what resolutions could i possibly make - and really motivate myself to keep? every year, i go through the process of analyzing my life and how i lived it the previous year...and i am able to stick them.. um, more or less - with a little cheating here and there...so what would make this year different from any other year?
1. go to the gym and get in shape... i really have no excuse except for laziness - because i'm a member of the gym that is 2 doors down from my office - as well as a member of the recreational center around the corner from my apartment. my motivation would most definitely have to be the fact that i'm in my friend's wedding (laura and jeff) in june.. ack! the reason of having to fit into a bridesmaid dress alone should be the strongest push... getting home 1 1/2 hr later than usual.. is nothing right? the combo of cardio and weights is nothing..i used to do it all the time!
2. watch less tv - i know i know.. *gasp* this past year, i got home around 7:30/8pm..and what do i do? grab whatever food is in the fridge, sitting on the couch and watching whatever is on until i'm ready to go to bed - which is usually around midnight...i can't help but watch a football or baseball game, all three CSI, all three Law & Order, grey's anatomy, prisonbreak, criminal minds, ... going to the gym after work should help in this one actually - or so one would think..
3. cut down on my snacking - this is probably going to be the HARDEST for me.. i love to eat - i'll admit it. i grew up in a family that enjoys food, we eat everything and practically anything - and my favorite? desserts, cookies, chocolates, ice cream.. you name anything with sugar? i'm a fan.. haha! and especially with all the holiday dinners going on - there's always cakes, pies, cookies, chocolates.. man! and when there's always an overflow - i'm not one to refuse leftovers! but my intention is to start buying more fruit and vegetables..and snack on those instead.. haha.. apples, pears, grapes, berries, baby carrots, grape tomatoes - it can be done, right?!
