Funny People is a story about George Simmons, a famous stand-up comedian, who learns that he has a rare blood disorders and the only way he would be save is to try an experimental drug or else, he would die. He then set up to correct his past from going back to doing stand up in smaller venues to trying to mend his relationship with his family and his ex. During this journey, he met Ira and he becomes his assistant and ended up helping each other out.
Haven't seen an Adam Sandler movie for awhile and sure was all good to see him back doing comedy. The story is so common (person is dying - set to do things right) but Jude Apatow sure added some twist and turns that - in the end - would just make you laugh. There are a lot of vulgarities but who hasn't heard them especially in the current comedy scene. This movie is almost like a passing of the comedic torch from Adam Sandler to Seth Rogan.
