Getting into A Mighty Heart- Emotionally, Psychologically, Politically

Life can seem so routine at times. We watch the news, read the papers and it doesn't really affect us-- at least not until you live it. Here in California, we lived  the news for a couple of weeks (or was it only one?.. Every day seemed like an eternity) with all the fires and the loss of property and life.  We have the photos and news clips that make it more real and impact the lives of you, me and everyone else.

However when you see the  news coverage of the war, see the politicians debate the war and what is going on in Iraq, Iran, Pakistan, Afghanistan, it's hard to relate unless you know someone who is "over there". Even if you don't, you can empathsize

While you think about the above there is the "drop" of the DVD,  A MIGHTY HEART,  based on the true story that we have all seen on the news and in newspapers of Wall Street Journal reporter Daniel Pearl and Marianne, his wife. 
 

This is a gutwrenching, soul-searching drama that might even give you some hope and will linger in the back of your mind for years.   Angelina Jolie  becomes "Marianne Pearl" having spent serious time talking to Mrs. Pearl  before filming began to give   honor  to story of her husband and that this movie  deserved. breathes life into the unforgettable story of Mariane Pearl, who stopped at nothing to find out the truth about her husband's disappearance in the  rollercoaster  weeks following Daniel Pear's kidnapping.
 Directed by Michael Winterbottom (Welcome to Sarajevo), A MIGHTY HEART is a fillm  that  will be something you can watch over and over and still get something from it.
