Pirates 3 – The final (?) installment of the franchise. Apparently, there’s a quest for the end of the world with the British and Davey Jones teaming up to destroy all pirates. Somehow, Chow Yun-Fat and Keith Richards are involved. Due May 25.
Air Guitar Nation – A docudrama about the trials and tribulations of those who dare to ROCK, but can’t afford the equipment. Not even the pick. Looks funny, but makes me remember all the times I stood in front of a stereo air-guitaring to AC/DC. I wouldn’t want a trophy for that…
Next – In Hollywood’s efforts to film the entire Philip K. Dick library, we’ve got another one. Nic Cage can see his future, and is being tracked down by the government. Let’s see… man, with a supernatural power, being hunted down by the government… yep. It’s a PKD story.
Day Watch – Part 2 from the people who brought you Night Watch. I will confess to not having seen Night Watch but if it’s anything like the trailer to this movie… holy sh!t.
Year of the Dog – Mike White (guy who wrote ‘School of Rock’) writes and directs a romantic comedy about single life and dogs. Trailer was okay…
Lonely Hearts – Jared Leto and Salma Hayek are lovers who con others out of money, then kill them. Based on a true story. Trailer looks interesting…
Black Sheep – In New Zealand, genetically engineered sheep begin killing people. Get ready for the violence of the lambs. Geez…
Penelope – Christina Ricci as a girl cursed with a pig face until she marries someone of royal blood.
Oceans 13 – They’re back and this time, they’re after more money, both literally and figuratively.
First Snow – Guy Pearce’s car breaks down and has his fortune told by J.K. Simmons, who relays to him that he’ll stay alive until the first snow. Could be good, could be bad.
The Lookout – Joseph Gordon-Levitt is a high school athlete whose life is destroyed after a car accident. He becomes a janitor at a bank and is only able to remember things by writing them down. Falling in love with a girl, he’s commissioned by her brother to help with robbing the bank. Think “Memento” meets hockey.
Spider-Man 3 – The FINAL trailer has been released via Comcast, and it is awesome! SPOILER ALERT: Apparently, Topher Grace becomes Venom after Spidey rids himself of the substance.
The Bourne Ultimatum – Matt Damon as Jason Bourne is back in the third go ‘round. Check out the trailer on Yahoo! UK & Ireland
28 week later – The survivors from “28 days later” are allowed back into London. However, the “rage” comes back. Produced but not directed by Danny Boyle.
Movie News:
- Remakes, remakes, remakes. The latest proposed is “Teen Wolf.”
- J. Abrams is looking into making a movie (series?) based off the Stephen King “Dark Tower” book series. Unfortunately I guess I’m out of spec scripting that one. My hope is that Vigo Mortenson plays Roland.
- Finally! More names have been cast for “The Dark is Rising.” Namely, Chris Eccleston (formerly on the revamped “Doctor Who).
More to follow…

Each player of this game starts with the 6 weird things about him/herself. People who get tagged need to write a blog of their own 6 weird things as well as state the rules clearly. In the end, you need to choose 6 people to be tagged and list their names. Don't forget to leave a comment that says you are tagged in their comments and tell them to read your blog.
The Bourne Ultimatum – I loved the first film. The camera work in the second one gave me a headache - I couldn't stand it. Besides being nausea inducing I couldn't see what was going on in any of the fights - tha camera was too close up. But I realize I am one of the few who disliked it. I'm really nervous about the third one.
28 week later – Very excited about this one. One of the best horror movies I've ever seen. But then I'm not much of a horror fan.
First Snow – Guy is an exceptional actor. As long as the script is good he will make it work.
Stephen King "Dark Tower" - They have to do this one right! There will be hell to pay if it goes the way of Eragon.
The Dark is Rising: I know nothing about this? What is it about?
Wandering Soul - I agree with your comments. BTW, "The Dark Is Rising" is based off the pre-teen/teen fantasy series by Susan Cooper (it wan a Newberry Medal, I think. Maybe the Caldecott). It was one of my fave books reading while I was growing up. It's about a kid who learns on his twelth birthday that's he's an Elder, one of the last protectors. A mysterious man comes to visit him (ergo, The Dark). That's all I remember aside from enjoying it.
Samantha O. - Congrats on joining, stay tuned, and thanks for the comment!
Hurdon - Thanks for the Chris Eccleston info. I do remember him as Raymond Colitrie in "Gone in 60 Seconds" ("It never rains, but it pours!") I liked him better in Dr. Who than David Tennant.
The Bourne Ultimatum, Spiderman 3, Pirates 3, and 28 Weeks Later are all movies I am looking forward to. Let's hope the next Bourne movie can live up to the first 2 and that the new Spiderman movie is not just hype. :)
