Please take note: the picture on this article was deliberately posted as an icon to illustrate how weak our rights have become. Although, the picture may provoke ideas that need censorship the picture itself could not be proven beyond any reasonable doubt to be vulgar. If our rights were not diminished the decision will always err on the side of our rights but our rights have diminished to the point that people would not think twice to abrogate them and would not think at all when abridging them. The picture that is posted is the third picture posted and has been digitally edited to remove some patterns that gave the appearance of something revealing....
Our constitutional rights are being crucified and it's crying out to us:
"America, why has thou forsaken thee!"
Although Litany is often associated with Christians it is used by everyone regardless of religion when all hope is lost and the only thing left is to leave their fate in the hands of their maker. America is entering a dark period when its rights start to lose meaning. When times become desperate Americans can recite this litany:
The Litany of Our Constitutional Rights
What ever religion you happen to be if you are American this pray is for you.
The Litany of Our Constitutional Rights
To the terrorists who earnestly endeavor to keep America scared
Our constitutional rights protect us from their evil
To the terrorists who turn America's fear into hate
Our constitutional rights save us from their evil
To the terrorists who fuels that hate with additional fear
Our constitutional rights deliver us from their evil
To the terrorists who turn America's hate into prejudice
Our constitutional rights protects us from their evil
To the terrorists who turns Americans against his brother
Our constitutional rights deliver us from their evil
To the terrorists who wants Americans to destroy their enemy
Our constitutional rights save us from their evil
To the terrorists who profit in the deaths of Americans
Our constitutional rights protects us from their evil
To the terrorists who would use hate to destroy America's ideal
Our constitutional rights deliver us from their evil
To the terrorists who promote confusion to keep Americans Ignorant
Our constitutional rights save us from their evil

Not sure what you are saying. I think our rights are pretty much the same as before, except with regard to ease of travel and lack of surveillance.
In fact if care is not taken to protect our rights and liberties the picture above would have you landed in prison if not stoned to death. Until that time comes though, may I suggest, more pictures! ; )
But if you care to look at the police reports and the eyewitness accounts of what actually occurred you would have a better understanding of the issue. But you seem to be one of the many who blame ourselves first and only see the bad side of our country. All the empathy and self loathing in the world doesn't change the fact that the last time people stood up to pray on a commercial airliner 3000 people died. It would be irresponsible not to check out the next guy who does so.
Welcome to Gather and terriffic first article.
Did you hear about Newt Gigngrich speaking the other night in New Hampshire saying we might have to give up more of our riights to defeat the terrorists? If we do that the terrorists will have already won. The only thing that seperates us from them is our Constitution.
P.S. I like the pictures, too.
I could be wrong, but the way I construe this, public prayer on a commercial airliner causes innocent people to die. Is this a joke like the one about killing kittens?
Nice article. Do we have to give up everything that's good about the U. S. in order to fight a war? Seems like deciding to lose in advance.
Not if there are no children to protect. I wonder what good will all those fancy rights do when we see a suicide bomber walk into a school and blow up a load of kids.
I think we can give a little on our rights in order to egage effectively in this struggle. You don't bring a knife to a gun fight, unless you want to die.
Peace, j.

Gee, all I was saying was that the sentence " The last time people stood up to pray on a commercial aircraft 3000 innocent people were murdered." defies understanding. It seems to imply that public prayer on an airliner causes people to die. Seems to me that someone who believes that has paranoid delusions.
Could you clarify the phrase "that line?"
Well I could pretty much say the same to you. But i'm not afraid of anything. But that doesn't mean that I have to give up the fight altogether. And part of winning any struggle is understanding how you have to approach the struggle. We have the most free society of anywhere on this planet, but sometimes that can be a disadvantage in fighting such a unpredctable eneny that will use that to their advantage.
Yes we should have a national ID. Yes we should be finding and deporting those who overstay their visas. Yes we should be scanning internet and phone conversations for keywords and phrases, and yes we should be monitiring financial transactions to track money being sent to known or suspected terrorists.
It's not about fear. It's about trying at all. And sometimes, I think people are too lazy to even be bothered to try for whatever reason.
You think God will protect you, that's fine. But what about other people who want to take steps to protect themselves. You're not the only one affected by the methods that are chosen to fight the war on terror. And even if you believe that God will protect you, you should remember the story of the man and the flood:
GOD will save me
The police were going door to door warning everyone to evacuate because the
river was rising. One door they came to, the man said "GOD will save me".
The river continued to rise and he was forced to move everthing to the
second floor of his house. A man in a boat came by and offered to save him.
Again he said "GOD will save me".
Pretty soon the second story was flooded and he was forced to get on the
roof of his house. A helicopter came by and tried to save him and yet again
he said "GOD will save me".
It wasn't long before the house was completely covered and the man died and
went to heaven. He confronted God with "Why didn't you save me, GOD?"
And God said " I sent you the police, a boat and a helicopter. Why did you
stay in the house?"
Well God sent you warnings in the form of numerous terrorist attacks, and a government who was willing to take steps necessary to fight the war on terror, yet you still say, "Don't do anything, God will save me." If you reject the reality of the situation, then you just might find yourself answering the question "What are you doing here in Heaven?"
Everything that George and co. have did since 9/11 has been geared towards instilling fear, instilling the "you need US" mentality. The neocons have intensified the animosity towards the US in the Middle East, and completely intentionally. They could NOT have known how the invasion of Iraq would have panned out in the region and among Muslims around the world.
As Faith says, live your life in fear if you like because thats what the neocons want, and it looks like they have won another one over to their sordid belief system.
Do you like walnettos?
And that Mussolini guy really made the trains run on time too.
If I am correct this is not a problem either party is going to solve- indeed believing that world-deep problems like sustainability of the globe or safety cannot be resolved b y a one dimensional batlle to elect short-term electorates
take clinton party 1 first - here is a man who is doing as much good as any powerful person now he's out of the white office, but was reduced to sexual games within it
take 6 years of bush party 2: frankly I cannot imagine a narrower - set of interests and disconnects with serving ordinary people - than 3 big men (bush, cheney and until recently Rumsfeld) being sponsored out of Texas by Enron, Exxon, arms and the likes of Bechtel; mixed in with Bush's case "with I am converted Billy Grahamism"; its the world's tragedy that Americans could not find a way to update their centuries old political structures before this time; over the last 6 years it has been a tragedy for Americans too because the 21st C world is one where trust and transparency wave humanly good consequences around the world, and to anyone outside of USA today, Bush has shredded trust and transaprency with the same blinding abandon as accountants Andersen did in the Enron case
When you have a system of problem of the supersize that I have briefly tried to indicate it is supported by a storm of other problems; too much media that dares not ask big interests questions; completely wrong maths embedded into econ omics and other professions unless what you want to compound is big gets biger and speculative gets more speculative - 2 dynamics which nature opposes with her all power which of course is far greater than man's http://crisiseconomics.tv http:/crisismedia.tv http://futurehistorian.tv
