A friend sent this "Manifesto" in an email, author unknown. It doesn't matter who the author was, because the words exactly reflect my beliefs.
I especially believe the words, "I will respect the Office which he [Obama] holds" are important. Many Obama supporters disrespected President George W. Bush, and thereby disrespected the Office of the President and our country, and that is a sad chapter in American history, and our country is the poorer for it. No, President Obama is my President. While I may disagree with him, I respect the office he holds and I love my country. That said, here is my public declaration of principles, policies, or intentions, especially of a political nature, which is the definition of a manifesto.
Manifesto
I have noted many elected officials, both Democrats and Republicans, called upon America to unite behind Obama.
Well, I want to make it clear to all who will listen that I AM NOT uniting behind Obama!
I will respect the Office which he holds, and I will acknowledge his abilities as an orator and wordsmith. BUT that is it!
I have begun today to see what I can do to make sure He is a one-term President!
Why am I doing this?
It is because I do not share Obama's vision or Value system for America;
I do not share his abortion beliefs;
I do not share his radical Marxist's concept of re-distributing wealth.
I do not share his stated views on raising taxes on those who make $150,000+ (the ceiling has been changed three times since August);
I do not share his view America is arrogant;
I do not share his view America is not a Christian Nation;
I do not share his view the military should be reduced by 25%;
I do not share his view of amnesty and giving more to illegals than American Citizens who need help; I do not agree to giving illegals Medicare and Social Security. They did not work for it as we did.
I do not share his views on homosexuality and his definition of marriage;
I do not share his views that Radical Islam is our friend and Israel is our enemy who should give up any land;
I do not share his spiritual beliefs (at least the ones he has made public);
I do not share his beliefs on how to re-work the healthcare system in America so as to include illegals and reducing the benefits to Americans.
I do not share his strategic views of the Middle East, and certainly do not share his plan to sit down with terrorist regimes such as Iran.
Bottom line, my America is vastly different from Obama's Muslim vision of America, and I have a higher obligation to my Country and my God to do what is Right!
For eight (8) years, the Liberals in our Society, led by numerous entertainers who would have no platform and no real credibility but for their celebrity status, have attacked President Bush, his family, and his spiritual beliefs!
They have not moved toward the center in their beliefs and their philosophies, and they never came together nor compromised their personal beliefs for the betterment of our Country! They have portrayed my America as a land where everything is tolerated except being intolerant!
They have been a vocal and irreverent minority for years; they have mocked and attacked the very core values so important to the founding and growth of our Country!
Liberals have made every effort to remove the name of God from our Society! They have challenged capital punishment, the right to bear firearms, and the most basic principles of our criminal code; they have attacked one of the most fundamental of all freedoms, the right of free speech!
Unite behind Obama? Never!
I am sure many of you who read this think I am going overboard, but I refuse to retreat one more inch in favor of those whom I believe are the embodiment of Evil!
PRESIDENT BUSH made many mistakes during his Presidency, and we do not know how history will judge him.
However, I believe he weighed his decisions in light of the long established Judeo-Christian principles of our Founding Fathers!!!
Majority rules in America, and I will honor the concept; however, I will fight with all of my power to be a voice in opposition to Obama and "his leftist goals for America."
I am going to be a thorn in the side of those who, if left unchecked, will destroy our Country!! Any more compromise is more defeat!
I pray the results of the next election will wake up many who have sat on the sidelines and allowed the Liberal Socialist-Marxist anti-God crowd to slowly change so much of what has been good in America !
"Error of Opinion may be tolerated where Reason is left free to combat it." (Thomas Jefferson)
God bless you and God bless our Country!!!

Good luck with this :)
Thanks Franklin, but I don't think what I believe is a matter of luck. It is a matter of principle.
I do believe one should always stick to their principles :) Like the country song from a few years ago... You've got to stand for something, or you'll fall for anything.
Great title!
The 2012 election will be another no choice election with Obama getting a second term. No matter who is elected it will spell doom for America and finish what Reagan started.
Nice.
"I am sure many of you who read this think I am going overboard,"
More like hyperbolically overboard. I'd have a LOT more respect for this if there weren't so many assumptions and opinions presented as facts. You need to get a grip, son. President Obama is NOT the "...embodiment of Evil."
I'm getting really tired of you dolts on the right insisting that anyone who disagrees with your opinions or assumptions is "evil" and consciously determined to "...destroy America." NONE of that is true. We just believe that your vision of a "Christian nation" is nonsense (we don't think the notion is evil, but that the execution of it would be).
No surprised from you, Chuck. People are waking up and there is nothing anyone can do about it - only one person has the power to stop it and if we don't help, it will get much worse before it gets better.
i'm rooting for the good people in American who continue to want their freedom, stand by their principles, become producers instead of consumers only with their hands out.
As one of the "bad" people in America, I'm rooting for you to be sorely disappointed, Linda.
IF you are right, Chuck, and I've not read any of your comments of which I would agree, I would be happy for all Americans. Not any particular race or creed - but for all. But, I say to you, we are STILL free to (almost) say anything we want but do not believe it will be thus for long.
I would NEVER be disappointed if I was wrong - NEVER. Too much going on under the radar for any chance of that. That is the problem with many people here on Gather, it'w about being right and others being wrong. Would that it could be that easy.
I had a friend, who once said, "anytime there is a dispute (or argument over an issue or event), there are always two sides to every story, and generally, the truth is somewhere in the middle". I found this to be very true.
For me, it is NOT a win/loose or a right/wrong. It's a win-win or we've accomplished nothing.
So, as I've said to you at least a dozen times, do your own research. Why do you want to depend on others to do it for your? You obviously have a computer so have a go at it. Also, from what I've read of your comments, if the "article" is not going the direction you want, you just skim, don't go do dozens of links, and read no further or do no more research. Your loss of continued education.
I don't know about you, but when the govt. lies and hides things, it is only the tip of THEIR deceit.
Chuck, a "Manifesto", by definition is opinion. I never said anything about facts.
But, what concerns me is your position that the"dolts on the right" do not have the right to express their opinions like you intellectually superior members of the left. Fortunately, our Constitution protects that right for both of us, intellectually superior or not.
Oh, and remember that those who have logical arguments discuss, and those that don't call names. Thanks for stopping by ...
Lots of untrue statements in this manifesto. How sad. The author should calm down, do some research, and get a better grip on reality.
The more he talks, the less credible he's looking. Anyone who remembers the unemployment numbers the first stimulus was supposed to fix knows it's a complete failure. They even had dates attached to those numbers. Someone needs to tell Mr. Obama that Jedi mind tricks only work in Star Wars movies and he can't go around, wave his hand, and say, "This is going to take two years.""
Linda,
Can you provide a link that shows the dates and the unemployment numbers predicted. I would like to know the fool that tries to predict such things, especially with a stimulus package that wasn't even supposed to do much until 2010. Even Obama was saying back in February, I think it was, that things were going to get worse before they got better.
The economists were saying that it would be at least next near (2010) before the employment figures would bottom out. I think your conclusion is about two years early.
Larry, please see my reply to Chuck about fact vs. opinion.
BTW, I am now hearing a lot about a "stimulus" bill (that was passed in a panic without being read to cap unemployment at 8% because we were in an "economic crisis"). Now it is being explained as a program that was not intended to help the economy until 2010 or 2011.
That spin sounds like a desperate administration. Do they believe that the American people are just sheep that can't figure out what is going on?
WOW! And that makes What Bush did to this country and his admin. good for the country? I am tired of the status quo and those who would think anybody who wants change is evil. Change hurts but eventually it will make us strong again.
This is another example that what people read in chain emails is truth.
When do you think his "change" will finally steal everything hard working Americans have saved, their homes, their 401k's & IRA's, cashing in life insurance policies, and and and...
He's destroyed more middle class Americans lives than the Dems & Reps dis with the Iraqui war. Yes, we are still here, but for how much longer.
Bush destroyed the middle class already. OBama is left to pick up the pieces.
Sheryl, just keep looking at the world through those partisan glasses if it makes you feel better. I am not a Republican or a Democrat. I try to be a good American and support what is best for America.
Obama and his radical one-world fascist goals are not American, and will destroy the American spirit that has served us well for the last 200 years.
Randy - Many times you said you wanted to give Obama a chance, but am not surprised you discovered early his real intentions. He was quite open about then during his campaign, if you read between the lines. That's when I spotted his arrogance and his snickering inside at how dumb and blind his supporters turned out to be.
He never fooled me as I have a unique ability of judging character - immediately. There was nothing there - just a polished image jammed down our thoughts by the elitists and their evil supporters, old media.

Linda, I believe that political campaigns contain a lot of hyperbole that thinking people don't expect to influence actual conduct in office. I said that I would judge President Obama on his actions, not his campaign promises.
But, now his actions have spoken for him. We have 30 plus unaccountable "czars" overriding Cabinet Secretaries who were confirmed by Congress (and duplicating the cost of many functions of government). We have Inspectors General being illegally fired, and then the White House illegally stonewalling Congressional inquiries into the firing.
We have new programs with massive expenditures being "pitched" to the public by their President in the middle of a recession that have nothing to do with economic recovery. The President is saying that health care reform and the energy tax will help recovery, when all of the world's economic experience shows the reverse to be true. Our President is either ignorant of the facts or lying to us.
Our President has taken actions to allow unrestricted government financed abortions of our children. Moreover, he has put all taxpayers in the position of paying for this slaughter regardless of their moral beliefs, and has us paying for programs that advocate this slaughter around the globe. If that is not "evil" then nothing is.
I could go on about the seizure of GM, Chrysler, and AIG, but I think that you know that the actions of this President are enough to make any moral person who cares about our country withdraw support from this misguided man.
You are right Linda. If the American people would have looked past thier dislike for President Bush they would have seen the real Obama..The changes he was talking about making. Was not what the people wanted. The lies he was telling sounded good but were just lies. We don't want a socialized nation. and that is where he is taking us.
Chuck, yeah, just like dirt takes the shine off of a new pair of shoes.
I've seen variations of this for every president since the internet really came into it's won...
I am against the position being used to foster and aid crime. I guess I am just an American that gives a ****. This too makes me a piece of ****.
