And here I thought Bush was finally doing something right. He was finally earning back some of the respect I had lost for him during his presidency. But no, that was not to happen. He has proven that I can never, ever trust him to do anything correctly.
I am talking about his recent critical comments about Obama's policies. I was beginning to respect Bush for his earlier statement that Obama deserves his silence, and then proceeding to lay low in politics. While Cheney was going around bashing Obama every chance he had, Bush was nowhere to be found. I thought, "Gee, maybe this man has some scruples after all." Maybe all during his presidency it was Cheney causing all the problems, and Bush was just being bamboozled by him.
Now, Bush has also crawled out from under his rock and joined Cheney in the Obama bashing. Imagine that - - the worst president in the history of the United States criticizing Obama's policies!
I like to remember GW Bush as the character 'Captain Peter "Wrong Way" Peachfuzz' from the '50s cartoon series "Rocky the Flying Squirrel." Captain Peachfuzz was a character who could do nothing right. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Peter_Peachfuzz
If George W. Bush is criticizing Obama's policies, then I know that Obama must be doing something right. I mean, after all, if the worst president in history is criticizing you, then you must be doing something right.

Jerry,
No you can't, No you didn't, No you won't!
The next President to be elected will be a Republican and will have to dig our country out of this mess Obama/Democrats are getting us into.
The next election will bring us more House and Senate Republicans to stop the insane spending and hopefully reverse some of the harmful effects started by this President.
No you can't, No you didn't, No you won't! ~~Dan E.
You sound like the Republican Party of NO!
Rita,
You are correct insane spending has been a part of america and it needs to stop.
"and you are blaming Obama for the sensless war that got us into this mess in the first place."
No I don't blame Obama for the war, as a matter of fact if I remember correctly he was one of only a very few Democrats who voted against the war.
I do however place equal responsibility onto the Democrats as a party, they did support the war and the increased security for our country that came with a pretty price tag.
"It takes money to solve this fiasco."
Never before has spending money this way solve any similar problem, it just is not going to work.
Obama and the Democrats porkulus bill has some areas that may create jobs, but the jobs created by their bill are two or so years away most of the early money will not create many jobs which is what is needed to begin to turn the economy around.
Don't be fooled when the Presiden tells you his bill has created a lot of jobs already, it has not.
More than half of the first 32 billion released in the last two months went to healthcare, foodstamps and housing, which are NOT jobs building areas, a substantial amount of the balance did go to weatherization programs which will generate jobs, but these jobs are not the jobs that will stimulate the economy to any great effect.
So our economy will continue to languish which will give the Republicans the opportunity to take a greater number of house and senate seats.
So Kathy Obama may be the next President or maybe not!
"You sound like the Republican Party of NO!"
Jerry,
I am of the Republican party of Yes we can! We can do better.
Yeah right danny.
Go away and stay away.
The repugnicon party of mcsame/palin is dead so go off now and make up some new lies and hate to reinvent your sorry selves.
Oh and did you here the one about the trailer park state dwelling slutty stewardess governor and her family values spouting unwed mother daughter?
Sorry Don,
But if there is any representative of hate and intolerance I think you would take the cake.
Oh and sorry I had to delete your comment to my post but there just has to be some standards here on Gather somewhere.
The next president will be Obama again. Then another dem ~~~then another dem. Your party is fractured, limping and laughable. The only thing that scares me is that you guys keep electing hollywood actors and other non-qualified idiots into office.
Your party is currently bending over to and taking direction from an Archie Bunker styled radio talk host. You're aligning yourself with groups like the nazis and the KKK, with your stand on perpetrating hate and division.
No, Dan. In your lifetime, you will probably never see another repub prez. And, for that, I am so thankful. It will take us 50 years of rebalancing to fix the messes that Dumbya has created. WHO crashed the markets? Yeah. Now, when we're digging out and paying the cost of the bills that your party enacted...NOW? You don't want to pay the bills.
Sounds like a deadbeat to me.
Wilka
Right on, Kathy. I believe so too.
"The next president will be Obama again"
Maybe.
"No, Dan. In your lifetime, you will probably never see another repub prez."
Hopeful thinking on your part Kathy.
The polls show that a large percentage of Americans consider themselves conservative running at around 40% currently with self professed liberals at about 20% and moderates about the same as conservatives.
All the Republicans need to do is to return to conservative values and they win the elections.
Sorry but the likelyhood of a Republican President being elected in the next election VERY GOOD".
..the big trouble with dumb bastards is that they are too dumb to believe there is such a thing as being smart." --Kurt Vonnegut
The problem with people who hate is that they are blinded by their hate and can't change because of their hate,
Hello Jerry,
Thank you for submitting your article to Obama Watch
Jerry,
You're not surprised are you? Politics; it's all just politics.
'twas too good to last jerry, and now it's over.
I think he was previously acting under good advice to go out like a statesman. He's blown that.
It's kind of like the dumbest kid in the class "trying" to pick on the smartest kid in the class!
It appears that you have crawled from under your rock to bash Bush........again.
Why on earth would you have started respecting him? He hadn't done anything to earn it even temporarily. Hibernating in disgrace might be one of his brighter decisions, but it doesn't excuse the harm he's done.
I do not know of anything Bush could do that would make me respect him. An apology might be a start.
I never respected the war-dodging, endlessly lying chicken hawks.
The next president of the United States will be...
Bush and Cheney are still trying to cover their respective asses. They figure as long as they keep talking very fast, nobody will notice all the crap they did. Wrong. They are not very bright.
There Comes a time whe a person can keep silent for only so long. Bush and Cheney made mistakes, but they had the intent of doing what was best for the country.
Obama is fast tracking every single piece of legislation. The public is not given any time to digest the details. Senators and Congressmen aren't even given time to read the bills. Debate is being cut short as if every piece of legislation is an emergency. We have an abundance of unelected, unaccountable Tzars, who won't even answer a single question of congress. We have higher taxes, higher spending, bigger deficits, and a weak forein policy. Some Change.
