I heard about this on TV tonight, and I am so shocked that this election has come to this! Everyone knows that there is expected to be a huge turnout by college students and young voters this election. Polls have shown that Obama holds a lead in this demographic.
This is from a letter being posted at Drexel College in Pennsylvania:
Recently, at school, an Obama supporter approached me during a rock the vote assembly. He informed that (sic) on the day of the election there will be undercover officers to execute warrants on those who come to vote based on the anticipated turnout. He advised me if I had any outstanding warrants or traffic offenses I should clear them up prior to voting. They assume this to be an opportunity for those who normally go by fake names and addresses, to give their real names and id's. Allowing them to place name and face together and walla (sic), gotcha! Arrested on the spot. So if you have one or the other take care of it.Due to the electronic genius of wireless technologythis can and will take place all around the nation from L.A. to New York. Why hasn't this been done before? This seems to be a great way to arrest or just be able to identify criminals in the area. I applaud the new efforts of local and state authorities and hope to see a great success rate. I'm sorry to say but I don't think they should be able to vote anyway! Question? Are convicted felons allowed to vote?
He also said that both Obama and McCain support this idea but that he, "Obama", (sic) does not want the public to see any of his supporters get locked up showing their support or illegally voting for him. An incentive to avoid the legal dilemmas, but still participate in the vote is being put in place. This would allow individuals to turn themselves in, prior to voting, without legal penalty. This type of incentive recently took place at a South Philadelphia church with an outstanding turnout. Is this taking away from the true freedom of voting? Is this legal?
He had also learned that at the polling sites local authorities will not only be checking for "scoff law" traffic tickets offenders (sic) inside, but this will also take place outside. There will be vehicles equipped with plate identification computers. Upon identification cars will be locked with an immobilization feature locked to its tire then towed.
I think this November will be a November to remember. I love technology.

So they are telling students that they are checking for outstanding tickets if they go to vote?
In Colorado, students are being told from the Republican county clerk that students can not register to vote if their parents claimed them as a dependant on their tax returns. The office has since issued a statement stating that his office has misinterpreted state law and "mistakenly published information that was incorrect."
In Virginia's Montgomery County, home to Virginia Tech, the county issued a press release regarding proper protocol for college students registering to vote. It reads, in part:
"The Code of Virginia states that a student must declare a legal residence in order to register. A legal residence can be either a student's permanent address from home or their current college residence. By making Montgomery County your permanent residence, you have declared your independence from your parents and can no longer be claimed as a dependent on their income tax filings - check with your tax professional. If you have a scholarship attached to your former residence, you could lose this funding. And, if you change your registration to Montgomery County, Virginia Code requires you to change your driver's license and car registration to your present address within 30 days."
They are telling students they could lose their scholarships if they vote?
In 1979, the Supreme Court guaranteed students the right to vote in the communities in which they attend school. I hope that students won't fall for this as we know Pennsylvania, Virginia and Colorado are important swing states this year.

Mooch
And the ones making it difficult are the Republicans.
You are missing the point. They are allowed to vote where they go to school. They shouldn't be threatened. What's difficult?
We know that according to the polls it is not possible for McCain to win, and the polls are drastically short on the Obama side, due to his having far more people on his side that do not fall into the "likely voter" category to get called. If the final numbers are even close, we know this election has been stolen, like the last two.
Here we've had students with McCain stickers on their cars get their tires slashed, lockers broken in to, etc...one principal said they will have extra police on campus the day after the election.
It goes both ways Jim.
Typical ignorant response. If this were against McCain she would likely be up in arms.
OBAMA MUST STAND UP NOW OR STEP DOWN
If Obama turns out to be nothing more than a usurper who has fraudulently seized control of the Presidency, not only will the Constitution have been egregiously flouted, but also this whole country could be, likely will be, destroyed as a consequence.
And if this country is even credibly threatened with destruction, every American will be harmed—irretrievably, should the threat become actuality—including those who voted or intend to vote for Obama, who are also part of We the People.
Therefore, in this situation, any and every American must have “standing” to demand—and must demand, both in judicial fora and in the fora of public opinion—that Obama immediately and conclusively prove himself eligible for “the Office of President.”

While I respect your right to have an opinion, don't bring this nonsense to my posts. There are about 50 posts on Gather about this right now go find one of them please. It's not relevant to my post. Go try to scare someone else it won't work with me.
The old media has chosen our POTUS for us AGAIN!.
Coverage of Obama two to one for McCain. Obama has received over $450 million in donations, over $200 million in donations under $200 - therefore mostly untraceable - but money trail leads to foreign interests.
He lied about accepting public funding - now we know why and of course, he IS running on "transparency" and his "integrity". I simply cannot be the only one not surprised?
When you accept inferior products, you get inferior products. When you only buy "cheap" products, the quality soon disappears altogether and cheap is all that is left.
This year we have substitutes who TRY to pass themselves off as "quality". I can argue plenty on both sides of the isle. For those who bypassed quality and accept these candidates, you will get what you deserve - and it's not what you think it will be - unfortunately for us all.
My thoughts and prayers are for all who do not research records and investigate their product. Most people spend more time shopping for their dinner suit or party dress, or their car or truck. That is the reality for today's "voters".
So, why shouldn't the homeless vote? They should because THEY have a better idea of what is going on than those with Freddie & Fannie homes, and those who still have a job and a choice of where they live.
We DESERVE the truth. Can you imagine what would happen if the truth came out after the election - and it was found to be true (if he won). Wouldn't all those voting for them feel deceived, humiliated, disenchanted, and what ever other adjectives you care to add.
I did the same thing for McCain - covered every base I could find and wrote letters, and followed whatever course was available to verify his place of birth. THEY settled that issue, at our demand. No multiple lawsuits and was done before he was the Rep. candidate. No favoritism over one deceiver over another - the all smell the same to me.
The youth will lead us out of this mess, if they are given all the facts, and decide for themselves. Half truths and keeping secrets will destroy this country.
If they want to change the requirements - then change them.
Until that point in time, we must set the example for these students. We must raise our children to be honest leaders with integrity. Very few examples in politics; none in the presidential spotlight this year from the Reps or Dems - NONE!
So, let's target these kids with the facts and then encourage them to research, discuss, and decide for themselves. We, as parents, must be their teachers, more so than those in public schools and colleges. We've lost our way and must teach our children principles, how they work with applied knowledge.

Bill Clinton sent voting forms to illegals, told them to just take the document with them and they would be allowed to vote, because were on the "mailing list", thus would not be questioned. No other proof was required - then...
Obama Affinity to Marxists Dates Back to College Days
Barack Obama shrugs off charges of socialism, but noted in his own memoir that he carefully chose Marxist professors as friends in college.
German philosopher Karl Marx, author of "The Communist Manifesto," advocated redistributing wealth in order to achieve a classless society.
But Obama himself acknowledges that he was drawn to socialists and even Marxists as a college student. He continued to associate with Marxists later in life, even choosing to launch his political career in the living room of a self-described Marxist, William Ayers, in 1995, when Obama was 34.
Obama's affinity for Marxists began when he attended Occidental College in Los Angeles.

Thank you Patricia B. and Chris W., I appreciate the compliments.
BTW, are your blinders black or white?
Is this the new Oprah mantra? I believe she sits beside the Messiah, Obama.
It's going to be a very long four years - especially if I'm in the FEMA Concentration Camp, ready and waiting for freedom-lovers across the U.S. Our Forefathers handled adversity, guess I can handle the trip - but if I can run fast enough, they'll have to shoot and drag.
This hobby is my favorite and most challenging. Obama supporters are hopeless idol (or idle) worshipers, none like I've ever encountered before.
You all would not know value if it rose up and bit you! But, just to keep you honest, I am not going away - sorry. The good news, I've had a ton of "friend invites" from this site - sooooooooo, the brighter ones understand the value.
I guess you don't read your own posts when putting them up?
Enough. If you want to preach divisiveness, go to another post please. I will not tolerate anymore unfounded smears on my posts. If you want to talk about issues, that's fine. I am actually sad for you. You live in fear and not hope.
It's sad when issues are not addressed but the poster belittled because that is only comeback. Definitely shows the level of denial here.
The only difference between McCain and Obama, (both Republicrats) is how quickly Socialism will finally arrive. Obama is the leader there.
