This is a great article from the Miami Herald today.
America's baggage is Obama's burden President Obama? No, not yet. But, the intention of Sen. Barack Obama, Democrat of Illinois, to move toward that goal seems clear with this week's news that he is forming an exploratory committee to raise money toward a possible White House bid. Count me among those who regard the bid as a foregone conclusion.

Barack Obama and his biggest rival Hillary Clinton have both announced thier Presidential exploratory committtees now. The two power cahdidates of the Democratic party are now competiting for donors in the same areas. Hollywwod Chicago and New York. Senator Obama has already obtained the endorsment of some key donors like George Soros and Torrey funds. This is going to be very interesting to see how the major democratic donors fall in the primary. here is a lik to a great article in the NY Times today:

We will see but the next 2 years will be fun to watch and participate in...
This is sure to be an exciting election...
That's it, Jeff. I don't want to see Al stop spreading the Word with "An Inconvenient Truth", and I don't want Hillary to leave the Senate where she is doing a great job.
I share Kelly's concern about Hillary energizing the right, too.
I share Tyler's distaste for Brownbeck, but I think that this is not a good time to be vying for the "voice of the religious right". I don't see the culture wars on the table right now, and I think McCain is losing his cred as a "maverick" and becoming one of the "old guys".
As far as Obama is concerned - I truly believe he is a diamond in the rough...just not quite ready yet for the responsibility of the Presidency....but give him another 4-6 years in the political arena and I don't think anyone could touch his ability....or success. I think a lot of people feel so desperate for dramatic change, about the mess we are in now - they are willing to take the chance on him....a certain amount of experience is required and I just don't think he is seasoned enough to play ball with some of those Republicans and lobbiest of big business....which is part of the mess we are in now.
As for Obama I think you aybe do not know enough about him. have you really researched him? he is more experienced in the world and all than most of what people would call our seasoned politicians. Our typical politicians are how we got here today. Those same people that I know that do not like hillary ironically love Obama and they will even sa he is more lieral and they still feel that way. That is what we mean by negative numbers. Also Hillary might just have the Republicans come out in force to vote against her not for their candidate.
hope that helps..
