I had to look the name up after posting a photo and Melinda ~choosing happiness~ S., and Angela M. were kind enough to let me know what they are. Angela M. also posted a very pretty photo of the flowers that come before these beautiful berries. I hope you'll go check it out. I'll be watching for these flowers next spring.
Beautyberry - any of various shrubs of the genus Callicarpa, of southern North America, as C. americana, having clusters of bluish flowers and purple, berrylike fruit.
I found a very large bush yesterday when we went to Myrtle Beach State Park to go to the beach there. It was so beautiful I just had to take a few photos to share with all my Gather friends. I hope you enjoy them.
This is the bush they grow on.

Some macro shots of individual clusters.

You can read more about this beautiful bush here. Aren't they lovely?

I have never seen this plant before
LOL@Marianne's stuff.
Maybe I'll plant some.
American beautyberry is an outstanding deciduous shrub that grows 6-8 ft (1.8-2.4 m) tall with a loose, open form and outward pointing branches. This shrub makes a coarse appearance large toothed green to yellow-green leaves 6-8 in (15-20 cm) long and pubescent beneath.
They are really beautiful and this one was really full but not too high, maybe 4'. I was shaded somewhat in the back by trees and the front was open to the sun.
