What is it about fear
that causes us to hold it close like a lover?
We embrace it,
trust it, let it ingrain our very beings
until we are paralyzed,
and in that inability to move,
we feel safe.
What is it about fear
that causes us to lose our childlike enthusiasm
for exploring beyond ourselves?
When did we start to prefer
the path of least resistance?
What is it about fear
that enables us like an overprotective parent,
and why do we allow ourselves
to be enabled?
Where is our spirit of youthful rebellion,
that need to go against the grain,
dancing to our individuality?
We need to see fear
for what it truly is...
an abuser, an enabler
that wants to suck the life from us
and pull us away from ourselves,
from our dreams, and ultimately
from the very God who created us

Very nice poem, Cheryl.
I think about this a lot. Say we are waiting for test results for our children. I have fear. But I think it is important to ask what th fear is.
1. I know God is with us and has known from before she was born that we woudl be going through this hour. 2. I know he loves us . 3. I know He is in complete control.
I know that in the end ... all things work together for good for those who love God.
4. I know He will take us through whatever it is and comfort us. 5. He answers our prayers. BUT THERE IS A SIX ... sometime he does thing to strengthen us. I don't want this to be one of those things you do to strengthen me. I am afraid you are going to lovingly do what I don't want you to do.
We don't usually doubt Him.
