This moment is almost over. It's passed as quickly as the dancing of this font across the screen - did time go by this fast when my old Underwood produced news clippings in the days of old? I wonder if electricity makes the hours go by faster. What the heck is time anyway? Have you managed to write an article tonight? Have you gone out on your patio and looked up at the stars and said a prayer? Have you held the moment in a poem? What have you done? I've had four glasses of wine and saved a baby possum. I've closed the day with a list of a hundred things to do next week. The weekend is an open novel with chapters yet to be written. I would love to know how you are harnessing the time you've been given. How are you spending this gift the universe has granted us. Thank you. Salud.

I had a few beers tonight, played a little cards with some friends, and came on here. Mariana, you made the highest rated today along with me. I climbed to three before I was shot in the ribs by a yellow shoulder. Thanks for all you say.

I dedicated my very-early-summer day to Harry's aunt Petunia: I fixed the terrace and planted a big pot full of petunias. Our neighbor on the floor above feeds the birds during winter with sunflower seeds (wonder why, there was no winter this year). As these creatures are mushroom-stupid, they throw the seeds all over the place, so regularly a number of them sprout between our plants. I took them out and dedicated them a separate pot.
Mariana, I like your question about the nature of time. Let me add this to the conversation:
We are born once. We cannot be born twice: for eternity we must be non-existent. But you people, who are not master of the future, put things off for "the right time". Procrastination ruins the life of all. And so, each of us is hurried and unprepared at death. [Epicurus, 341-270 BC]
Hajo - I love this - now please explain exactly what you mean by this because I am a simple person and express myself simply yet I do think deep thoughts in areas of my mind where words have never been. So, you explain for me. Thank you so much. Salud.
I see you had a makeover! Congratulations on the emmy! I wouldn't know where to even find this infor.
Anyway, I had a busy night because my daughter had a friend stay over who lives on the Vineyard because they left early this A.M. to a journalism convention in Connecticut.
I made Shrimp scampi, fettucine, asparagus, cole slaw, and hollywood cheesecake for dessert.
A few glasses of wine and I fell asleep watching Don Juan DeMarco. Great Flick.
That journalism convention sounds like a blast!! oh wait - I'm getting very hungry - Cheesecake - yummmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm - I eat desserts first !!! just in case I fill up on other stuff and have no room - hahaha...oh dear you sound like me with that wine...Don Juan DeMarco - is that a movie? Tell me more, Laurun - come back. Salud.
Although it is still a ways off I hope you have a spectacular birthday!
David, you also have a wonderful attitude - I wish both of you a great time today! I'll be on Gather on and off...Salud.
Oh Miz Wil - I hear you're going to get one of those No'easterners - what we call Hurricanes in Luziana. Hope all is going well. Salud.
Did strawberry girl have that fifth glass of wine?
Thank you for saving the baby possum...Do you think you could save Colonel Possum? HA!
Cheers,
Colonel Possum
Oh Robb - mamma used to say - the hurricane was still blowing inside of her body. I know what you mean - seriously, the worse was losing mama right after.
Peter, bless your heart - now I'm worried about you. Send me your mailing address please. Tonia too. Salud.
Have a splendid rest of your Saturday.
The wine will come later.
Thanks for the delightful article!
Today I traveled through Franklin, destination Intracoastal City. I hollered your name, but you didn't answer. On the way home I hollered out the window for you again, but once again, no answer. I assume you are still out in California, darn it. On the great side of this though I did snap some great shots, cemetaries, barns, and some Katrina destruction. I also found a great new cemetary that I have to get to asap the next time I have time to be "LOST". It's on main street in Berwick, right off of Red Cypress road, it seems very old with some very interesting headstones.
Yesterday I went down to Venice. Then I came back home. That's about a 5 1/2 hour ride alone.
The kids are growing like weeds, faster than I can capture it on film. My oldest son is going to be a dad in less than 3 months, my oldest daughter, the one the drs said would never graduate will graduate with honors in just 6 weeks, time is really flying by. Well I will be back later, I really do need to be in bed asleep, but with this darn knee hurting me like hell it's very difficult to sleep.
I've gone to every cemetery in that area and beyond - nice sepulchrals there. Venice is too long of a ride for me. Glad you did it though - what are you delivering?
I'm happy about your kids and soon to be grandkids - congratulations on your daughter's graduation. You live a busy life Miz Stephanie. More power to you and many blessings. Thank you so much for taking the time to say hello. Salud.
Someone from one of my iternet groups said that franklin has some very old cemetaries, but I never get off of 90 because I don't know which direction to search. She's wanting shots of these old cemetaries, can you enlighten me on the locations of a few.
Also thanks for the congrads on the kids and grandbaby. I don't want to always be quite so busy, it's just a part of life with me....I dunno I must have stamped across my forehead, please don't let me rest!! LOL
I had to go to a rig out in berwick to drop off parts, then back to patterson to pick up a pallet of sugar and two bags of parts to take those over to intracoastal city.
Yesterday I had to bring a hose pipe, yes a hose pipe all the way from houma to venice and the company paid Acme 245 dollars for this, I was so confused as to why the heck I was hauling a darn hose pipe almost 200 miles, but hey at least I was working which means I am getting paid so I try not to ask too many dumb questions.
I don't want to waste time, but to savor the quick and the langorous.
This morning I was up by 6, home (I was at my sister's house) by 8 doing laundry and airing out the house with the stormy breezes. I lit my candles and incense, worked a bit, and then started to play online while deciding what to cook for dinner.
