My brother used to tell me when I was a kid, death is like sleep, a really good sleep, and all of us like to sleep.

my thoughts and prayers are with you Lora.

I will pray for you. It will be good for both of us.

Though the pain of loss can be heart wrenching, Lora, take comfort, he died on Easter morning...a day of resurrection...perhaps he planned it that way. As he makes his passage, I will be thinking about you and sending you good energy to help you get through the days.God Bless.

As for what was on my mind last night, let me tell ya'! The new article on Bill Bradley, the one we were going to publish on Sunday, although written, is on Mo~ze's dysfunctional computer. Last night we spent two hours on the phone trying everything to "jump-start" that machine and try to retrieve our article. Can't wait to see my phone bill!

Lora, so sorry to hear this. As Mariana clearly mentions in her article, we need to count are blessings, and appreciate our good health. We need to live everyday like it may be our last. To enjoy life with opptimism. Live life to the fullest I always say. Great article to provoke thought on our lives...

Miz Mariana, thanks for the gentle reminder to count my blessings. Sometimes it's hard to focus on the whole with so many little things that distort the perspective. Life is good, despite the hard times, but if it weren't for the hard times, we'd never recognize the good for what it really is.

So sorry Lora~ Ron, that was a nice comment about sleep!!!
Mariana~ I just look up at the universe and think about how much I am grateful for!!! Hard times will always be around at one time or another!!! My grandmother used to tell me (when I was a little girl) that God never let all the birdies go hungry...he always took care of them!!! He watches over us like he does with the birds...that always stayed with me:)

my worries? lately, since i saw the 60 minutes segment on global warming, in antarctica, i am worried about how we will all live ok in 20 years. i can't blv there was 3,000 feet of glacier lost in a few years. scary.

Sunday night, I had not a worry in the world. I was thinking of my best friend and was at peace surrounded by his love. That feeling made everything else seem insignificant. I wrote all about it in my most recent post, It's the Easter Beagle, Rob! (Sorry I'm Late).

Thank yall so much for all these comments - I hope Lora knows we're all sending her our love and prayers.

Miz Breanne - when one is young, there are things that seem to count more than others but one thing to remember, always put your family first, as time goes by, jobs and friends will come and go but you'll only have one mother and one father. I hope that the problems you're having will soon be minimilized. I think about you all the time & send you and Mama T good wishes. How is she????

My brother, who is an alcoholic struggling with several addictions, called me on Easter with good news--in a few days he will celebrate four months of sobriety. When I shared my own worries, minor compared to his, he told me to make out a "gratitude list," on paper, of everything I am thankful for. Those worries disappeared in the time it took me to write my list. I am so humbled by his simple act of kindness.

Dear Lisa - thank you for this in behalf of so many who struggle with daily challenges - I'm also a believer in making gratitude lists. We are so very lucky that we can sit here and type like this - what a beautiful freedom. Thank you so many times and I hope and pray that things will work out for your brother. I'm so glad that you are supportive of him. Bless him for his acts of kindness. Thank you. Salud.

Miz Vicky - enjoy your mother - every minute - hold her close and don't take her for granted. There are few things in life more important than a mother - I'd give anything for all the times I didn't spend with her cause I wanted to go out and have fun with friends - and I wasn't a spring chicken - but then I think that I was the only one of six kids who would fly back at the drop of a hat and spend day in and day out in the hospital with her with NO help. So, I'm blessed that I had the sense to realize so many things and though greed kicked in - love is more important than anything. Thanks for dropping by Mix Vick.

Amen to what Debbie said....connections run deeper that we can ever know. I am grateful for Lora's comfort in sharing her heart - as much as I am grateful for Mariana being awake to the need for others to share. There are many words for these connections - "women's intuition", chemistry, ESP, and from my heritage....anam cara, or soul friend. This is a connection that cannot be explained but rather embraced. Although I do not carry a belief in "past lives" or the like...I do believe that we are able to say that we've know another for far longer than our years would allow. This was a blessing today to share these heart-thoughts, joyful and sorrowful, with the community.
