The other day we awoke to a cold, rainy day and rather go to New Norcia, a monastic town inland from Perth, we decided to stay home and take care of chores. But in the early afternoon the sun came out and Mag was experiencing "cabin fever" and so we took a ride to Mundy Regional Park to go on a hike. Like Lion's Lookout and Mundaring Falls, Mundy has it's share of grass trees, wildflowers and waterfalls. Come take the hike with us.

Signs at the beginning of the trail. Fire is a real danger in the bush....notice the reward for anyone knowing who might be an arsonist.

The trail starts out fairly easy....wildflowers and bush grasses grow on the hills nearby.

The trail narrows and we can hear water rippling nearby.

Standing on a large rock with our shadows, we peer down and see a swiftly moving stream.

We start following the stream to see where it will lead us.

A huge gum tree with large limbs overhangs the waterfall and I decide to climb out on the limb to get a better picture.

Mag tells me to hang on tight!

Realizing I just might fall in the brink, I decide to sit in the crook of the tree to snap my pictures.

Mag is somewhat relieved when I get back to land safely and cautions me once again about taking unnecessary risks. We go on and find a stone plateau.....Mag is on one side....I cross over to the other side.

I finally make my way back to the other side to see Mag and we hike back to the car. Couldn't resist taking just a few more pictures of grass trees....they are just so unique to Australia.

It was minor. But still. In the hotel, in the bathroom, the toilet seat (really) was pointed and jabbed me in the small of the back, as I slipped on the floor. Ouch. It really hurt.
It was in the kidney area. I could not move for the pain. Had a meeting. That wouldn't work.
The hotel called the doctor who came. He gave me a script for some ibuprofen and to get a waist belt at the chemist. The hotel paid his bill or he did not charge.
I wore the waist thing for a week. A minor kidney injury. Ibuprofen really helped.
In Scotland, also, I did not have to pay anything for a visit to the doctor. In American, gosh, a person would have to shell out quite a bit for a routine visit like these.

You might make a run to the manure pile and put my beds to sleep for the winter. Change the screens on the screen porch....maybe Terry could help you.
Today was a long day as we traveled to Pinjara, Dwellingup and Holyoak to see all the places of Magi's childhood. Did you ever read Mag's story of his childhood. Go to "The Child of Ice and Fire....".
Do they have crocks in that area? Not the shoes, silly, the big ugly reptile.

AS YOU NOTICED SHE IS TONE DEAF WHEN MEN SPEAK. IF SHE SPOTS A RARE AND UNUSUAL BOULDER, SHEEP, FLOWER OR ROADKILL, SHE'LL LEAP OUT OF THE RACE CAR, CAMARA IN HAND, AND NO RETIRED BLOK WILL CATCH HER. STILL, GREAT POSTINGS. THE ELDER STAY AT HOME DRONE, COOK, GARDENER, PUTTERING FOOL.
Not a Jew in a suit
It's true he looks wise
as a Priest - what a hoot!
His handle's a label for Kings of the East
In some of the photos he is one of the three
In others he looks like the Wizard of Oz
Depends what he had for breakfast you see!
Say what you like about Bob
and her unsensible shoes
She's a whiz with a camera
She's captured great views
Keep gardening and cooking, Papa - especially the latter ... my cooking is a non-event.
Thanks so much for sharing with my group.
