This is my blog entry today from The Boomer Muse
Quote de jour
"Let every individual and institution now think and act as a responsible trustee of EARTH, seeking choices in ecology, economics and ethics that will provide a sustainable future, eliminate pollution, poverty, violence and awaken the wonder of life and foster peaceful progress in the human adventure."
~John McConnell -- Founder of International Earth Day.
These words were written in 1969. Here we are forty years later, and suddenly 'going green' is the buzz word of the day. What took us so long? If we treated every day as Earth Day, we wouldn't be in this pickle. If we slowed down for a nano-second to smell the fresh dew off a cherry blossom, might we make different choices? I can't imagine anyone littering under this tree.
Let's not wait another 40 years to do it right. I designed this ad to share. Feel free to forward it to anyone on earth.
My obsession with the cherry blossoms continues. I returned yesterday in a light mist , and nature rewarded me with these ethereal beauties. I snapped 100 pics and honestly a blind monkey could not take a bad shot with this scenery. Here's a random sampling.
Love yourself by loving the earth. Peace.

I've traveled the continental US and litter is in every state, including Montana, where I am now. It's really sad that people think it's not their problem. That last line says it all, Layla:
"Love yourself by loving the Earth. Peace."
Grandma once said, "You can glance in a person's car and tell how much self respect they have. And if a person can't respect self, how can they respect you." She was teaching us about what to look for in a mate, LOL. I took her advice!
I just love your photos, what beautiful trees. I hope moving forward we see more progress in preserving Mother Nature's treasures.
Silent Spring is upon us.
Beautiful photos, Layla and beautiful words.
Featured in the the Triple Name Club.
:) wishing you laughter
Oh my gosh...the photos are all so beautiful! i find beauty even in the brown weed found in ditch, or the dead tree still standing against a skyline... Viva la Earth!
Wow. Those cherry blossom trees are magnificent!
I think of these photos a lot and had to see them again.
Now I am back to your Boomer Muse entry for today. What is today, anyway? Oh yeah, Thursday....
