When Ice is Art

After enough rain to send waters from our nearby creek into its overflow channels, we woke one morning to rivers of ice...

The patterns in the ice were exquisite, so I thought I'd share a few images in close-up...

That is beautiful, Lisa. Was it caused by a flash freeze after rain?
My daughter had that happen in her area. The roads were a mess too.

Lucky Stars, yes, we had heavy rains and then the temperature just plummeted. Everything here was pretty much a mess, too. Beautiful but treacherous!

Thanks for posting this. I hardly ever take the time to just look at something as common as ice. It does have very cool shapres in it. I guess it is because where I live I see ice for about 6 months a year....it seems like at least! lol
