I had always wanted to stop to see what it looked like down here since this is the general area where a place called The Dell House once stood. The exact location is unknown - at least to us - and it's said to be a haunted area. I hear you can view it while on the Duck tours.
The first thing done was that Clint and Gideon tested the water. They reported that it was warm. I trusted their report and didn't try it for myself, LOL.

The water was calm and the weather was perfect. The sunset would start soon and I hoped we'd be able to see at least some of it over the water before returning home.

There were some storm clouds overhead but they didn't seem too threatening at the time.

The first peek at the setting sun... and some late night fishermen.

I love the rocky areas of the lower Dells. They are really pretty.

The setting sun progressed a but more.

I liked the curve to the beach and shot a few photos showing it.

A bit darker colors on the sunset.

Across the way we saw three deer eating. We thought this was an island and wondered how they got over there if it was indeed an island.

Another, better shot of the curve in the beach.

The right of us showed darker storm clouds.

I liked thse little rocky areas. Some fishermen used them as a place to rest while waiting for the fish to bite.

The setting sun had progressed more, but the colors seemed about the same as the last shot.

Nightfall was setting in and it was time for us to go. One last shot of the setting sun showed deep blues and beautiful peachy hues.

This is a very relaxing Photo Essay. Did you find out if that was an island the deer were on? Or was it a land mass connecting it?
Clint and Gideon look so serene. I love those back-mystery shots! The Gemist and the little artist. The perfect picture.
Blessings ~
