I was going to add this to my Vials zoo photo essay - until I saw that I had too many shots for it all to be one zoo essay. Instead I'll do the essay by species since I have a big series of shots on many of the animals there. This bird was in their free flying aviary. He was in front of me and above a bit... maybe 4 or 5 feet away. Some zoo-goers remarked how he was posing for me. What do you think? When he first flew over this was what I saw... okay, so maybe he wasn't posing now. Then he turned around a bit... just a bit... Still not looking at me, but he's looking around. Then he turned around. This was about the time they commented that he was posing for me. Isn't he beautiful? One last photo! All photos taken with my Canon Powershot A560. No editng nor cropping done!

I was too, Linda. Strange that he's such a mystery bird.
