I am always surprised by the juxtaposition of the manmade and the natural. The reflection in a thin skin of water fascinates me whether it shows the sky, a high rise or a gull taking a break from the daily search for food. I feel so much "inside the box" both in my house and in my computer, so having these pictures helps me to remember that I am in fact part of the real world, even while I am living in cyberspace.
Still, I am here, and I remember the sun and the smell of the water, the wind on my face and the cold water on my feet. This picture was taken in February 2005 in Myrtle Beach.
What is it that makes you feel grounded and happy when you look at it and remember being there?

Ann, the water was cool...too cold for me to swim, but still good for wading.
Donna, yes, feast or famine. I like the beach better in the winter. In fact, I like cooler weather anyway.
