We picked Sweetpea up last night from the doggy hospital, her front legs wounded from IVs, but still able to do her happy waggle dance. What a wonderful feeling to have her whole and back with us. I got on the floor and snuggled with her, all the time her rear end was moving and shaking, moving and shaking. At home, she climbed the steps slowly, exhausted from the medication and dehydration. Once upstairs she scratched around on her doggy bed until it was just right and then nestled into it and promptly went to sleep.

Marilyn and Mark (fur-family lovers)
The problem was an obstruction in her intestinal tract, that was supposed to be digestible and labeled as such. My husband gave her a Freshie, one of those mint bones put out by Waggin Train. She bit it in half and swallowed one half all at once, which should have been fine.....but wasn't. Since then, I've put a Freshie in a glass of water, and four days later it's still whole and hard and swollen double its size. I am pursuing the vet bills with the company that sold me the package. They are fine with paying Sweetpea's bills and have since removed the bones from their shelves. Turns out there have been a number of complaints. The vet said she sees this all the time. Yikes.
