If Michael Moore wants to make another hit movie on some controversy, I suggest he takes a long look at the FDA and how it works.
Those unfamiliar with the FDA believe it works to protect the public's food, food supply and nutritional value but unfortunately, that's NOT the case... at all.
In real life, the FDA takes in loads of money from pharmaceuticals, without being critical of them (in almost all instances but the most toxic of submissions), and then turns around and helps market that junk (they dare call food) to the public.
Heavily processed food, hydrogenated oils, transgenic fruits and vegetables, growth hormones and anitbiotics (from farm animals), pesticides, colorants, waxes (on "fresh" fruit), carbon monoxyde and dangerous neurotoxins (like Aspartame, a chemical byproduct) make their way into the human food supply without so much as a peep from the FDA.
And even when there's a huge public outcry for too much sugar, salt and fat, the FDA dismisses every single call to action against the greedy "frankenfood" producers!
That's right, the FDA almost always turns a blind eye to the nonstop wrongdoings of "the industry".
It's insane!
People are ingesting poison and the FDA couldn't care less!
Worse, the FDA helps PROMOTE the poisons to the unsuspecting public, either directly by "approving" them but also by not enforcing the verification of what's (1) in the products, (2) on the labels or (3) the countless side-effects of the products, especially for the longer term ones.
What is wrong with the folks at the FDA?
Well, the people at the top are setting the wrong example by placing big pharma money above all else, including the public's health and everyone underneath is just scared of losing their jobs for being "too zealous" so they play along, like drones, in the FDA moneydance!
Sheer madness, I'm telling you...
Diabetes, osteoporosis, high blood pressure, obesity, alzheimer's, cancer and countless other deadly conditions have developed into huge public health problems under "the watch" of the FDA.
Yet, nobody dares challenge the FDA.
The big pharma has bought this United States and Americans are dying right and left because the food supply has more to do with toxic chemicals than -raw stuff- coming out of the ground and sold without being touched.
Agriculture, in the eyes of the FDA, is dead.
Hail the "agribusiness" because for the FDA, that's where the big money's coming from.
And you very well know that the FDA doesn't care less about the public and what's -really- in the food... as long as they get their big fat paycheck, they'll continue to play along the big joke they dare to call the "American food supply"... yeah, right. More like "toxic waste"!
Looking at the mountains of evidence just walking in the isles of any grocery store, the FDA must figure that if you die early, you're likely not to be able to give a convincing defense in court but hey, the FDA has that angle covered too with TOTAL IMMUNITY for "agribusinesses" killing consumers!
If it's FDA approved (and any toxic waste, except the very, very worse of them will get "the stamp" in exchange for large sums of money), it's immune to any kind of legal action!
Isn't that complete madness?
Really...
It's the world gone completely mad...
The FDA is laughing at all of you in your face and covering it's ugly head under a blanket of complete legal immunity (thanks to George W. Bush, by the way, for that), along with its "good friends" from the big pharma who continue to mix stuff that's intended to sell, not make you healthy.
So...
Consume.
Get sicker and sicker...
Die.
And pretend like the FDA gives a hoot about you!
The elite won't wage "military war" on all of you — yet.
They'll push ahead with their sick agenda of making you brain dead, sick and hooked on their "miracle drugs" so that they can milk you dry up until the moment you pass away in complete indifference.
Take charge of your health NOW.
Buy —RAW FOOD— only from organic farmers near where you live.
The FDA has apparently commited outright acts of war against its own people and nobody can sue them for it.
Pesticides in your food?
Antibiotics in your food?
Growth hormones in your food?
Boatloads of hydrogenated oils in your food?
Yep, they'll make your health crash and burn.
And the FDA will continue to lie and cheat the American public of their "previously good" health.
If you believe the FDA fairy tales, you're in for... death, way before you expected it — and although it's quite unfortunate, you won't be able to say you hadn't been warned.

If you agree, and you don't like it, then writing articles on the internet can be cathartic, but, if you really want to have any impact, you need to conact your elected officials.
Yes, some of them are PART of the problem, but, if enough of us start to get involved, they will be forced to take action, and clean things up.

Abstract
Background:
Methanol is endogenously formed in the brain and is present as a
congener in most alcoholic beverages.
Because ethanol is preferentially metabolized over methanol (MeOH)
by alcohol dehydrogenase, it is not surprising that MeOH
accumulates in the alcohol-abusing population.
This suggests that the alcohol-drinking population will have higher
levels of MeOH's neurotoxic metabolite, formic acid (FA).
FA elimination is mediated by folic acid.
Neurotoxicity is a common result of chronic alcoholism.
This study shows for the first time that FA,
found in chronic alcoholics, is neurotoxic
and this toxicity can be mitigated by folic acid administration.
Objective:
To determine if FA levels are higher in the alcohol-drinking
population and to assess its neurotoxicity in organotypic
hippocampal rat brain slice cultures.
Methods:
Serum and CSF FA was measured in samples from both ethanol
abusing and control patients, who presented to a hospital emergency
department. [ CSF = Cerebral Spinal Fluid ]
FA's neurotoxicity and its reversibility by folic acid were assessed
using organotypic rat brain hippocampal slice cultures using clinically
relevant concentrations.
Results:
Serum FA levels in the alcoholics
(mean ± SE: 0.416 +- 0.093 mmol/l, n = 23)
were significantly higher than in controls
(mean ± SE: 0.154 +- 0.009 mmol/l, n = 82) (p < 0.0002).
FA was not detected in the controls' CSF (n = 20),
whereas it was >0.15 mmol/l in CSF of 3 of the 4 alcoholic cases.
Low doses of FA from 1 to 5 mmol/l added for 24, 48 or 72 hours
to the rat brain slice cultures caused neuronal death as measured by
propidium iodide staining.
When folic acid (1 umol/l) was added with the FA,
neuronal death was prevented. [ umol = micromole ]
Conclusions:
Formic acid may be a significant factor in the neurotoxicity of
ethanol abuse.
This neurotoxicity can be mitigated by folic acid administration
at a clinically relevant dose.

For those who doubt the corruption within the above, please do a little research. Read "The Truth About the Drug Companies" by Marcia Angell, M.D., who spent 20 years at "The New England Journal of Medicine" where she had a front-row seat on the growing corruption.
Also read "The Hundred-Year Lie" by investigative journalist Randall Fitzgerald. His book shows how chemicals in everyday products are ruining your health. Do you really think the FDA insures that drugs are safe? Read this book. Chapter 3 is a chronology of industrial developments, government actions, and increasing health problems. Read this chapter straight through and you will see the patterns that constitute the Hundred-Year Lie.
These are both credible authors. Fitzgerald coauthored a Presidential Commission report for Reagan fon reforming the federal government. But I guess noone listened.
There are many other good ones...just can't remember the names right now.
