Okay, while it is not really a resolution, I am striving to keep better track of all of the random sites that I get paid for in one way or another. I am in search of a better way not only of keeping track of the sites themselves, but the earnings and maybe even the time that I put into them.
Do you have a system that you are willing to share? So far, it is catch as catch can. I do keep a notebook where I just list checks and such as they come in, but I would really like to do something more detailed.
Any thoughts or wisdom??
Thanks

good luck though
Any questions e-mail me. I might be able to send you a sample of it, so you can see.
I need to try out a spreadsheet or divide my little journal better, that should help!
Spreadsheet is the way to go, and I recommend people download Open Office.org (it's a free version of MS Office).
Now if I can just get myself to keep up with a file!
I just have such a hard time keeping track or it all. Often, I forget about a site until they send me an email or I see something about it here...
I would love to see examples.
Share what you figure out Gwen!
We shall see....so far I have put in columns for;
name
address
type of site (Survey, sign ups, etc)
referrals (so I can remember which ones I get credit for if I refer)
Payment type (check, paypal, gifts, GCs, etc.)
Last cash in
Total received
Date started
Then the months, Jan, Feb, etc.
Obviously, I don't need to see all of these columns all of the time, but I want to have it down somewhere.
as for when collecting from one of those sites,i send myself an e-mail with whatever is coming and the order date inside the subject box.that way no matter what ill always know.just makes it easier for me
here at the computer and I have file
folders for each site and record-keeping
sheets that I made for them.
so it's not a challenge to keep track of yet.
Susan, I would like to do that, but I lost the use of my filing cabinets when his daughter moved in. Now my PC is on an extra dining room table in the living room. I don't want to add anymore stuff, now that I got rid of the lawn chairs:)
Brian, that is a good thing. I have no problem with this site either:)
Sue, I actually cheated and used the google app for my spreadsheet, so I can look it up easily:)
Before, (and I will still keep this) I just created a folder in the favorites/bookmarks for every site I have a membership with and I check on them once a week. I add the bookmark as soon as I sign up. I check earnings, stats and activity. I also use it to decided to quit a program or not. I also try to add a folder within a folder marked "paid" so I can keep track of what sites are paying and what ones are either not paying or haven't reached the payout balance yet. It is simple way for me to keep track of them since I am a member of over 30 PTR's and 20 PTC's. I also use this to weed out the scams and there are plenty of them!
I don't do PTS because of the SPAM that you are guaranteed to get.
abbreviations:
PTR - Paid to read (email)
PTC - Paid to click (links)
GPT - Get Paid To ..........
PTS - Paid to signup
Thanks for your input, I am doing the same thing now. I don't have everything on the list yet, but was amazed when I realized that I have over 30 survey companies alone! I will get the other PT sites on there as I remember them.
I stay away from the PTS too. They tend to be too much work for very little money. The spam is endless!
Have you tried Lightspeed?? I almost always qualify for theirs. I would think that you would qualify for a lot on most sites because you have children. I get nixed a lot because I don't.
also a site called watchthatpage
you can list the pass words along with the site name
also keep the pass words similar or the same on all sites
can you list the sites that you are involed in so far
so far I have found that mahalo and organised wisdom are the best
