I've also been paid by several sites that pay you after you refer X number of people, but the ones listed above all pay you for offers you complete yourself even if you don't refer anyone. If you do refer someone you get 10% of what they earn in addition to your own earnings.

I have to say that I disagree with the article about Treasure Trooper. The author is correct that you get 10% of your referral's earnings. However I made $296 in one month without any referrals.
The author is also correct that many of the offers require that you purchase something. It only makes sense that the advertisers would have bigger payouts if you try their product or service. I spent $20 that first month and made $296. $10 of that $20 was for signing up for Blockbuster, so I received a month's worth of free movies. There are hundreds of free offers if you don't want to spend anything. Stamps.com is one that costs nothing and pays $30 on many sites. True.com is a dating service that pays around $25 for a free trial. I know many people who consistently make $100-$200 each month by filling out surveys and entering sweepstakes and don't spend a dime.
I am not trying to convince anyone to sign up to Treasure Trooper, but it is certainly not a "scam".
