About a year or so ago, I found a website that my kids can participate at to earn some spending money. At first I was skeptical, but in the past year the kids have made approximately $50 each, with my 11 year-old cashing at about $75. The surveys are sent to both parent and child online when they are available so parents can keep watch. There is a formal registration process and the site follows internet safety guidelines. Once a child reaches $10 they can request a check (it arrives in both parent and child's names). The surveys are usually about entertainment or food products and most are easy enough for kids to do alone. Kids 6-12 can sign up.
The bonus for adults is that there are also some parent surveys that are sent out, which will be for varied amounts of $$ deposited into all the kids' accounts.
I have also done 3 online focus group things for $20 each (very easy!) The older kids can join the teen site, which is the same type of program for teens.
The kids' survey site is www.kidzeyes.com
