There is laughter in the air.
The tulips are dancing with daffodils,
as I watch birds fly here and there.
My cats are sunning in the windowsills.
The bees buzz around new growth,
and that bluejay over there eats seed.
Nothing and nobody wants to fly south,
because finally, from winter we're freed.
I wish I could tell you how good this is,
but I can't seem to say the right thing.
I guess I'll just give you a hug and a kiss,
as love, like all else, renews in the spring.
