Gather is like any other community. There are some good people, some bad people, and a great many people who fall in between. If you wish, you can learn something here. If you know it all, you can tell everyone about it. An open mind may find wisdom, a closed mind will find expression. You make it what you will.

I enjoy spending time on gather! Personal attacks aside most of gather is a great bunch of People who like to write or show their art work. I love reading what other peoples lives are like and I love to see art. Most on gather are not here to judge you for what you write or what you look like. They are kind and caring.
You always have bad apples that try to make it hard on the good apples, trying to ruin them and make them bitter. If people just keep their heads up and a smile on their face the bad apples will slowly disappear and then new bad apples will appear. Learn what you can from the good ones. Learn more from the bad ones. Never down someone for what they do or write, and NEVER think you are better than they are :)

I guess I haven't been here long Enuff for the insults yet But I can take it. I am a hard shell 2 crack. But I just ended a babysitting job for a year with a 8 month older,who can't talk but cries very well and on gather, good or bad,,,,It's adult conversation so thank all of you for gathering.
Now can we all just get along? (who said that?) ha ha

Good thing that you enjoy Gather, Raj. I'm very happy that you do. I haven't experienced any name-calling or "bad apples" on Gather, but then I try not to stick my nose in where it's not asked for or not wanted. Enjoy!

I like the Gather for selfish reasons. It is a place where I can find a topic that interests me and it encourages me to formalize my thouhgts and present them so others will be able to understand where I am coming from and challenge me. It allows me to discuss issues in a way that I've seldom in day to day activities.

With regard to the rudeness, my personal filtering simply blows it off. The personal attacks and the venom, to me are demonstrations of the person losing control of an internal "truth" that they have been told and have never thought through.

So thanks for the opportunity to say why I like the Gather.

I like Gather better than My Lot, because you get rated on your posts not on your replies. They ar no silly questions like "What did you have for lunch?" or "Do you wear Lipstick" I have only had the nicest things replied to me here. Writers are supported here.

Gather has been good to me, and made life worth living again. When I get lonely up here on the mountain in a mostly empty horse camp, I can click on Gather and can exchange ideas and just talk to people who can't see that I'm sitting here in my nightgown looking bad enough to scare a bedbug. The encouragement I have recieved from Gatherites has inspired me to write night and day. In fact I think people are getting sick of me, and I am going to cool it, and not write every idea that pops into my mind. I am going to try for more quality and less quantity.

I like it; It allows me to see other folks point of view that I would not get here in my hometown with my day to day friends. I also like that there are a number of people from other countries that post and that also gives me some perspective on what others outside of the USA think.

I like Gather. I am sort of with Duane on this thing. I suppose I am a little self-centered when it comes to being here. I do enjoy posting stuff that I have a passion for, and like to get feedback on that but I also love to share my world. I think it is sort of neat! I enjoy writing article, and I like that I am not locked into ONLY poetry, or ONLY photography, or ONLY blogging. The points are a nice little bonus, in fact I had no idea I could even earn points when I joined. I have not had any bad experiences here on Gather, and I suppose I have a pretty tough skin anyway.

In your case your article starts with the letter "I" Not "C", and like the rules say for this group the title must start with a "C".

I am also sorry for the delay of finally letting you know if it would be accepted or denied. I have finally got back to Gather after some time away. And I am trying my hardest to get through all my groups and the submitted pieces. I will be busy for at least a week if not longer.
