Today I received my advance autographed copy of The Devil Can Wait by Marta Stephens. Marta is also a member of the Gather community. This is the second book her in a series of Sam Harper Crime Mystery. It will be available for purchase November 3, 2008. I have only read the first chapter but will be continuing my read soon. Keep your eye open for my review of this book.
The first volume in the Sam Harper Crime Mystery series, Silenced Cry, won an honorable mention in the General Fiction Category at the 2008 New York Book Festival.

Most authors are on Gather to promote their books and aren't interested in actually getting to know anyone in the Gather community.
I need to get one of Dame Ruth's books.
Some authors are actually valued members of Gather and I enjoy their writing.
Oh and I forgot we also have Gather regular Selene who has a couple of books of her poetry and Rev. Brad will have a book coming out shortly.
The above doesn't include the free-lancers that I know and there are a couple of people on here who will probably get their breaks soon because their writing is exceptional.
