As always, I was so excited when my new book arrived in the mail. Recently, I have had the good fortune of reading the book, The Best Day of Someone Else's Life by Kerry Reichs. If you have a few hours on a Sunday afternoon, this book is a quick read that is bound to bring out loud giggles from you. This is a book of entertainment and fun which often times we don't get enough of in our reading, at least I don't always get enough of it. This is just the book I needed and it came in time for my week off of work.
I should have known when the main character was a young, single, female who had the very bad fortune of being named Kevin, that I would be in for some relaxing and fun reading times. Kevin or "Vi" as she likes to be called is one of those girls that says all the right things and yet thinks all of those things that we are just diing to say to our closest friends. Her thoughts echo those of every woman in America that has ever had to deal with a wide array of female friends while still trying to live their own life.
The Best Day of Someone Else's Life brings whole new meaning to the idea of always a bridesmaid and never the bride. The money, effort, and time spent being a perfect bridesmaid is part of what makes this book truly amusing to the reader. I think one of the strengths of this book is the reality that these situations really do happen to people and when they are happening, we forget to laugh about them because we are too busy being in the middle of them.
So, will the main character ever find her own idealistic Prince Charming and have the wedding she has always dreamed of or will she, like many of her friends before her have to settle for something slightly less than that fantasy? If you'd like to find out, grab the book and get reading because it is sure to be a hit amongst anyone that ocasionally wants to read something just for the fun of it. The Best Day of Someone Else's Life was a fun and well written fiction book that is sure to fly from the shelves.
