so many of us get stuck in terrible situations.. and become a 'victim' of circumstances.. whether it is at home.. or at work.. with friends.. relatives.. family.. and we blame everything that happens to us.. on that person.. his/her terrible nature.. and slowly we start 'reacting' in similar ways.. a thing that we hated.. becomes a way of life for us.. under the guise of 'blame' 'victim' 'reaction'..
why is it more the norm than exception.. why is the 'worse' nature, though hated profoundly.. emulated the most.. why does it always supercede.. where does 'individuality' disappear, in such moments.. is it a pointer to the 'baseness' in each one of us..
right after marriage, a lady was told about all the 'terrible' members of the family.. and how badly the daughters-in-law of that house were treated.. she heard everything out without comment.. and with each subsequent event, started pointing out the 'goodness' happening in that house.. and as the 'focus' shifted.. it was like two sides of the same coin.. so it IS possible.. and it CAN happen.. if only we believe in ourselves more.. and let the 'light' in our heart reflect in another.. instead of letting the 'darkness' in another reflect in ours..

It is said that if one looks for the evil in a person they will surely find it. The reverse is also true, as you have so kindly related.
We are born of this duality, but positive thought can change the world for the better.
Thank you for this gift of positive spirit.
I was reflecting on the questions you posed: why is the 'worse' nature, though hated profoundly.. emulated the most?
My thoughts were that this behavior is due to the illusion that we are separate beings. If we were to overcome this illusion, and recognize the other as another manifestation of the self, that no harm would come.
The idea of separate-ness or individuality appears to be self-evident. But so was the notion that the earth stood still in space and that the Sun revolved around the earth. We now know this to be untrue.
also I think we as a whole somehow focus on the 'worst' and 'invite' it into our lives.. whether emotionally, physically or mentally.. if life becomes an expression of our experience.. then maybe we simply need to 'shift' our thoughts at a given moment..
