What I can give to you?...
What I can give to you,
My remote dear friend?
Russian lullaby’s smooth flow,
Tender stroke of my hand?
What I can give to you?
Salty streamlet of my tears,
Unfulfilled desire,
Dreams that never came true?...
What I can give to you?
Outburst blown out,
Kiss intended for another,
Or my bittersweet smile?...
You deserve in this life
Only finest of gifts:
Crystal laugher and joy
And the passion unbridled,
And the purest of hearts
Free from sadness and pain,
Free from doubts and complaints,
Clear as diamond‘s facet.
Yeah, this world is unjust,
But the question remains:
My remote dear friend,
What I can give to you?...

Lunar Eclipse
Worrying news in the air,
The orange of darkening Moon on the skies,
So majestic
This sultry hot August night,
This sultry hot August night.
... And I'm swinging so lightly
Between yourself and the shadowed Moon,
And don't know -
To which of you it’s easier to flight,
To which of you it’s easier to flight...?

My dear remote friend. You certainly know how to turn a phrase.
Cheers
Jim
Thanks for sharing.
Dear James - yes, I know that this would be more correct grammatically, but I had to follow the rhythm.:-)
Dear Chris - you've find the right word. COM-passion. One of my all-time favorites. ;-)
Dear Donald - totally agree! ;-)
Dear John - I'm moved and flattered beyond all words...indeed, this is the trademark of Russian poetry and Russian literature in general.
Dear Liz - yeah, you did describe exactly what I felt and what I feel towards these verses' addressee. ;-)
Dear Sandi - spasibo, sestryonka! ;-)

That's so nice of you, dear Dawn!
And, of course, in my previous comment I meant "found". When I'm excited for some reason, I tend to forget all my English grammar. ;-))

I understand she was a poet also.....
Great lines Svetlana!
(dont worry about the grammar if the feeling comes through)
You rise to such Elysian heights with these two poems. They are so so warm and so full of emotion. There should be a song called Hot August Nights in Moscow...and these two poems should be in it.
As Leah says, you are a superb spinner of words.
I haven't felt so stirred by poems for along time. I salute you with a lnng distance hug.
Fred
Dear Gary - which Anastasia do you mean? I know several of them. And you're so right about the grammar! ;-)
Dear Fred - as always, every word of you is filled with kindness and generosity and true friendship. I hope this song will be written someday. ;-)
Dear Haim - toda raba! And my special warm gratitude for accepting my connection request. ;-)

The second poem is more of an abstract wondering of why things happen as they do.
Hugs and blessings - hope you're doing better with every day - S.

"... And I'm swinging so lightly
Between yourself and the shadowed Moon," is my favorite phrasing.
