Well, My mom convinced me that it was worth joining this site. First I don't know how often I can be on here because I am a full time mom with five kids, My son is age two he is being potty trained. He is almost two and a half. I have a four year old daughter, One that just turned six May 18th, An eight year old and a ten year old.
I am starting a new job next Friday. I will work at least through October. Then off for the winter. I think I have something lined up though for winter months. My husband is working part time as well. It was a long dry spell of two and half years neither of us had work or only a month here and there.
I live in a place I hate and hope that in another year or year and half I can get out of there. Probably sooner. We actually are going to have to move cause the county is planning a road through where we live in a year or two. Not sure how soon. The property belongs to my father in law and that is a whole nother story. But it is like having six kids when he is around which he is at the moment.
Well first I want to say my mom said there are some people who on here won't like how I say or write or spell. I am telling you right now. I will do my best but I have a learning disablity called Dyslexia. I am better than I use to be but I am not real great all the time. So your going to have to understand that.
second I am not a writer and don't even aspire to be. I can write things here and there but I am more into music and outdoor things.
I graduated in Decemeber with 3 AA. degrees. Fish and Wildlife, Parks and Rec and Soils. I plan on going back after working a couple of years and finishing my forestry degree too. My graduation commencment is in two week at Spokane Community College.
My mom is my primary care provider and my kids are at her house half the time or more. She only lives a couple of miles from me. I would not know what to do without her.
She and dad both have physical disabilities and are getting older. They need help a lot too and so my husband and I try and help them out with things hard for them to do and they help us. Wish my oldest brother would get his rear in gear and help like he should too. But right now he is being a royal donkey for no good reason.
I am the youngest of four siblings and the only girl and having had three big brothers had to pretty much learn to fend for myself and to hold my own. I am 31 years old. Like to sing and music is my hobby, I can play the flute and love to sing, I have had lots of music and voice lessons. I was asked by Airplay Music to go to Nashville, they wanted to promote me. I however put God, and family first. I do sing when and where I can though.
I also love the outdoors and working outdoors. right now I am trying to get a garden put in and hope to get it done by Monday if my FIL will stop trying to think I have to do his to do list.
I get along with most people though most the time. I don't know how often I will get on here but maybe I can every evening or so. Well I guess I don't know what else to say so will sing of for now.

Have fun!
My brain doesn't always fire right (seizures) and I remember when I started I made some 'errors'. I was totally embarrassed and almost quit. It was harder for me because I am a serious writer and I want to be taken serious as one.
Great about your graduation!
It sounds like you must have a lovely voice. What a blessing to have such a gift.
Anyway, welcome and I hope it is a positive experience for you.
It's okay to be not so good at writing. I'm not much of a writer either.
Surely there's a niche for you on this site. If you don't find something that suits you perfectly, you can create your own group that does. I'm sure that you know that already.
Wow, six little ones, I wish our son would have at least one, though six would be GREAT! I see nothing wrong with your writing and it's wonderful to have you here!

And to those on here that have criticized anyone for grammar, spelling or other writing errors, I say "Pffft".
I found your writing style to be uncomplicated, open, and basic. Not a thing wrong with that. You simply write from your heart.
I have found the Gather community to be a very friendly and helpful one. People are in here for a variety of reasons ~ serious literary creation is only one of those reasons, and I enjoy very much reading what they produce, as well as their artistic and photographic creations. Others are here for political banter, to share their knowledge and skills, and many, many who write to share wisdom and knowledge without seeking to be literary.
Your writing was just fine. You are academically a very accomplished woman, with three Associate degrees! I am impressed (that's way more than I have, which is NO DEGREE). Your plate is certainly full with your work and your family, not to mention having to look for a new home. You are very blessed to have your parents to help you out.
My prayers for you in your job and home searches and in caring for your father-in-law. I hope you can find time for a little relaxation, relief, and pleasure while you're visiting in Gather.com
Blessings
That is a lovely name! Welcome and hope you like what you find here. Wow, 3 AA's! I'd like to get 1!!!! I have three kids but they are all grown. My youngest just graduated HS! Sounds like you have a handful and LOTS on your plate. I hope you find someplace nice to live and that your work situation goes the way you like. I have to get a second job or something too, but finding something that will mesh with my full-time one is the trick! Good luck to you!
As far as critiquing writing, if you post in a writing group that does just that, it would be critiquing because you want it to improve your writing. As far as general posts, I haven't run across anyone "checking" our English. :-) It looks like others have though, so don't worry about it if it happens.
Again, welcome and hope you find people and groups that make your experience a pleasure.
Donna
PS... love the photos of the kids! CUTE!!!
Welcome to Gather!
Loved the as your Mom said jumping in with both feet. The article was pretty easy to keep up with and I've not only seen much worse but done allot worse with grammar so just hang in there!
