Weird Al is always funny. When my brothers and sister & were little we used to do 'radio interviews' using his songs. We would record a question asked to a particular sibling on a cassette tape and then use a line from one of his songs as the answer. It was so much fun. We came up with so much crazy stuff. I wish I still had those tapes.

I didn't know all that about him, I just knew he was funny. Wow, he is has some great accomplishments. I hadn't seen his face for a while either. Thanks for sharing this on a day when I needed some fun.

He was like god when I was little. The best album was definately the TV album, with Amish Paridise, The night santa went crazy, and Albaquerkie.

I hated Madonna and Michelle Jackson, I loved the parodies that he did. I think the funniest one was "I lost on Jeopardy"

I have seen him in concert 3 times and he has yet to disappoint. When he busts out into "Yoda" (his best song by far, followed closely by Christmas at Ground Zero,) it's absolutlely mind blowing! He is truly a creative genius the way he could take just about any song from any musical genre and turn it into a joke, without losing the original song. I have been a fan of his for many years now and I am amazed at the diverse crowd he gathers at his concerts; young and old, men and women, different races, all coming together to share a splendid show.

I did think it was humorously sad at the last concert of his I attended when he closed out the encore with "Yoda" and after the house lights came back up after the show I overheard a very young boy (probably around 7-9 years of age) turn to his dad (presumably) and in an excited voice explain how much he was looking forward to getting Al's new album with that cool new song about Yoda on it! (This was at his tour promoting his "Bad Hair Day" album released in 1996. "Yoda" on his famous "Dare to be Stupid" album was released in 1990 and the kid just heard it for the first time. Too much Coolio on MTV for that little boy!

Thanks for giving props to such a deserving artist as "Weird Al" Yankovic.

That is SOO cool about there being a campain to raise money to buy him a Hollywood Walk Of Fame star. His contribution to modern music is really deserving of it. Seeing as part of the reason might be that when people learn that he's done a parodyu of a song they will probably go back and listen to the original. His original songs are neat, too.
He's one of my top friends on my MySpace list and has been for awhile. It's too bad his "Straight Out Of Lynnwood album didn't win. He was having people send positive thoughts for four months to the Grammy people in hopes that the album would get enough votes.

I love Weird Al-- can we get him to join Gather? From Dr. Demento, to UHF, to White and Nerdy.

I think it is amazing how this one guy can make fans from so many musical intrests. When many have so much dislike for different styles, he comes along and brings them together with one of his paradies. Personally I still think he "Like a Surgen" is one of my favorites, and I do hate anything Madanna does, but this is as funny as it gets!
