I Need Your Help With Camera Advice

I do hope you get the help you need~ I have my older children pick mine out~

i hope someone can help you, im just starting out.

I love my Sony Cyber-shot DSC-H10
It is full HD 1080, and has Super Steady Shot. 10x zoom & won't break the bank~

I have a Olympus Stylus Digital camera. 3X zoom lens. It's an older camera.

CONS -
1 - is a small view screen.
2 - can't get the larger size memory card. If you use the the picture size 640 X 480 you can get over 300 pictures on a 64 MB memory card. The larger sized picture the less picture you can get on the memory card. I have no problem with that limitation because I have a photo editing program that can re-size any picture and keep the integrity intact.

PROS -
1 - it does have a viewfinder. Because sometimes the sun is shining and you can't see what's on the view screen. Most newer digital cameras don't have a viewfinder now.
2 - this camera is a "All-Weather" type. You CAN take pictures if it's raining. But don't take it underwater.

I am curious about your editing program. What do you use?

I have a kodak easyshare, 8 megapixels. I love it. It takes several different picture settings. Some of the settings are: black & white, fireworks, close up(for self portrate), snow, dim light, moving objects, candle light, it has more but I can't think of the rest right now. http://www.gather.com/viewImage.jsp?fileId=3096224745210428 - black & white.

These are among my favorites. The camera I have is the Kodak Easyshare Z710. It was purchased on clearance last year for $125, but the regular price is around $200-250.

The problem is that Gather shrinks excellent photos during the upload process and often makes them merely ordinary. I love my Canon PowerShot S1 IS, though.

I so agree. My photos are beautiful on my computer but gather shrinks them too much making them just normal.

I have a Sony DSC-W30. It's okay for the price, but I never noticed that you can't use disposable batteries with it in an emergency. It only has the rechargeable battery. If that goes dead, you are stuck unless you have another rechargeable battery and they are expensive.

Kodak Z650, 10X optical, 5X digital zoom, real glass lens, viewfinder, flash, 1gb SD card, 2 rechargable AA batteries. No camera dock, just plug the card into the computer card reader and move the files in seconds. Think the newer ones are Z700 models?

I have a panasonic and so does my husband and son. All the photos on my site have been taken with Panasonic Lumix cameras. I want to get a new camera for Christmas with a better optical zoom. Mine is a 6X zoom now and I want a better one. I have had my camera for 4 years and it still takes good pictures.
