When to tell the Truth about the Easter Bunny?

What do you think is a good age to tell the truth about the Easter Bunny, etc.?

Well, my daughter is 10 and if she asks this year, I'm going to tell her the truth. I think it depends on the maturity of the child.

If the parents start out telling the truth then they don't have to ask that question.

I think my mother handled this one well... (This and Santa Claus and the tooth fairy and all...) I don't there was ever a time that I honestly BELIEVED there were any of these things... When she referenced one of these "characters", it was always with "a wink and a nod" so that I got the message very early that they were "fun little folk tales"... My husband on the other hand has never gotten over the fact that his parents "lied" to him about them and the embarrassment he felt when the other children in school laughed at him for really believing...

I got lucky with my son. He didn't seem to believe in the Easter Bunny, Santa, ect. He asked at a young age (bout 5, i think) why his father or I was in his room setting out eggs or why someone was in the atic at Christmas. I also tried to teach him the real (at least real to Christians) meaning of Easter & Christmas.

we do both true meaning and funny stuff of easter,,,

by the way when I was 25 I got a ticket on easter day from a Easter Bunny,, I was late for chruch,,, and got caught speeding in Sarpy county

This one is one that you have to watch out for.....because other children can be cruel. It is much better coming from you the parent then a spiteful child out to hurt feelings. So as soon as they ask is my take on this. My daughter who is 18 believed till she was like 11. She told the other kids that they were lying. She is her own person....he he. My son I think he was like 9.
