My husband and I like to take cruises as our vacation so that we can scope several places out at once. If we really like a place, we will go directly there on the next vacation!
On one of our cruises, we went to Antigua. We decided to take a tour to see a gigantic waterfall! I was so excited because I really wanted a photo of the falls!
It was supposed to be an easy walk. That's what the lady said where we signed up for the tour. I explained to her that I was disabled and walking long distances was difficult. She assured me that it was a very easy and short walk. NOT! This was a very long, long walk but it was worth it because the scenery was beautiful, and I was able to get a shot of this little brook!
Back to the waterfall?it was huge and so beautiful! I reached into my photographer's vest to get my wide-angle lens and guess what? I left it on the ship! I tried to photograph it with the lens that I had, but I could only back up so far due to the huge cliff behind me! Oh well, it was beautiful and I was proud that I had made it all the way.
We decided to start back so that we would make it on time. The walk back to the tour bus seemed longer than the walk to the falls! People kept passing us on the trail! After a while, my husband and I were the only ones around! I started to get worried. We finally made it back to the tour bus, and when I got on the bus everyone clapped for me! I thought they were going to be really angry because it took me so long, but they clapped because I made it! It made me feel so good!
I didn't get a shot of the falls, but I did get a photo of this little brook!

Why do the folks running tours always bend the truth? LOL
And I hear ya on the walk...my husband told me that a walk to this ancient tree was like 4 miles...yeah he forgot to mention it was 4 miles there & 4 miles back....I wore black & didn't bring enough water... not good! I complained the whole way...we haven't been hiking since. (Even though I think it would be fun to go with our kids some day & I am fully prepared for them to be exactly like I was that day...whiney!) ;o)
Don't give up on your husband. My husband took me kicking and screaming, and now I can't get enough of it!
