Do you have more than one gather account?

Oh my! I can barely keep up with what is going on with one account.

I have an alter who writes in a way that Terry's some of Terry's readers would not enjoy.
She has many less connections, and I use her to express a part of myself.
It is nice to be read, but I would write her even if no one read her.

Nope...have enough problems keeping up with one.

I only have 1 account which I can barely keep up with!

I just have one and barely enough time for that since I like to visit all my connections publications and comment.

One. I love the peeps that try to fool us changing their names everyday. I find it rather gather amusing.

I have 2 accounts but I did it accidently. My other account has been here longer.

Here is my story briefly.

I joined gather and then when I tried to come back I couldnt remember my user name and password so I joined again....I would have forgot about my other account except I came across it one day so I had gather email the other account info to me....so I guess in a way this is my alter cause my other account is older. I dont use the other one very often and I dont try and keep it some deep dark secret.

No, like you I feel that one is more than enough to handle.

I do, but it is rare that I ever use it. I don't have really any connections, or publish much of anything. I really should just delete it - as I just don't have time for it.

No way, one is it for me. I can't keep up with all of my connections as it is.

I couldn't pull off an alter ego...and time--if we could make 48 hour days maybe...

I only have one account...as the real me...and will never have any more than that under an alter-ego, nor will I ever change my screen name. I don't even know who some of the people are in my network anymore. We connected when they gave one name...and all of a sudden, I'm starting to get notifications from people I have never heard of before...names I don't recognize at all. I think people should simply be themselves and be real...and not play some of the games they do.

I sure couldn't pull off more than one. Besides that wouldn't it be harder to build up any points if you had to divide them between two personalities?

I thought it might be fun, but I have never done it. I barely have time to keep up with the one I have now. I don't know how others could, unless they just want to express themselves differently.

first time I heard of this, wow. I wonder if my alter would be more popular? lol

Good grief. I have a hard enough time keeping up with all my connections with one account, much less trying to create an alter ego! LOL

one only for moi.....Gather announced months back that we were allowed to have a few more accts. and could use an alias for the purpose of being anonymous to ask health and financial questions to their essentials staff groups....i assume they were not receiving many coms because members didn't want to ask the personal questions....

Gather said they would monitor alias accts. from abuse such as rating the other accts. favorably during contests, but i can't imagine how they would go about doing so with so many....i put a name in search people feature which turned up a dozen with same first name and most were accts. who signed on and out either same day,or same month during a large Gather contest period....obviously this helped this person out by alias giving the 10 ratings which were used to choose winners for GCs.....

There are various ways to figure out some alias members if familiar enough with specific members....can't complain to Gather since they allow them....i also read that it increases their membership numbers which is what advertisers consider...

I've only got one - way too much going on to keep track of two. I guess some people who want to cause trouble could make an account for giving bad reviews or something, then another that is nice. Also helpful if you are friends with people at work or family on gather that you don't want to know about some of your writings. Or if you want to complain about them to get it off your chest without them knowing...

Just have one here. I can see where it would serve a purpose for creative writers.

I have two ... one for me to flit around and be me ... and t'other that I can give to students, teachers, etc.... it is my more professional me

seems to work fairly well for me, although I sometimes neglect to check it often enough .... its a pain to scroll through all the articles I've already read as flit to find the few posted by people who are not on both accounts

Yikes - I barely have enough time to check in on just one and NEver find time to write articles anymore. One is way more than enough for me.

I could see people doing that to separate say, one account for just fun and the other is for posting like writing pieces that you'd like criticism on. Other than that, people probably just create them so they can go around randomly flagging things.

I have only one, it's hard enough keeping up with that.

I can't keep up with my email acct much less two gather accts. I only wish that I had that much time on my hands, then my house would be clean, the Christmas decorations out, and I might be a little more sane!! LOL

I can see having more than one account if you have more than one interest - that way you can keep your group lists separate and it is easier to load them when you post an article!

I now have a second account but I too find it hard to find the time for it with my computer fritzing like it does.
