Why do you write?

I dont write often. It is usually when I have something on my mind, that I want to share with others.

I write because it's the only hobby That I have that I can concentrate on for any lenght of time

I also write to prove others wrong

I also like the little bits of money I get.

I write because it is in me and I need to listen to the words, and tell a story, my story or a feeling. i write to connect. i write to feel alive!! it is a thrill to be read and often validated here on gather.

I've been writing poetry for about 8 years. It's a great outlet/hobby for me, although my goal is to publish a book one of these days. I've had poems published in quite a few anthologies and that's always exciting. But I mainly write for the enjoyment I get from putting words together and telling a story. It's a challenge to find just the right word and I am constantly revising my work.

I write because I feel better when I write. I write because words have great power and I hope to add positive to the world. I write because I have so many stories to tell...I write because...!
