Anybody belong to Netflix or Blockbuster online?

We have Netflix. We pay $14.99 a month for two movies out at a time. When we get movies in the mail we try to watch them that night, then return them via the mailman the next day. Say we get the movies Monday. We watch them Monday night then return them Tuesday. We get the next two movies Thursday when the mail comes. You also get to watch movies online (select list) for a certain number of hours a month based on which plan you have. Obviously the more you are paying the more hours you get of online movies. Only catch I would say they have is if you finish watching your movies on, say, Friday, don't expect another mailing until Monday or Tuesday of the following week...I hate the weekends. :( Other than that I really like it!

We have netflix too. There aren't any catches, they really do give you a free trial and then you chose the monthly payment plan that fits your budget if you want to continue with them. Maybe one bad thing is that on some of the really popular titles, there is a long waiting list. And you do need to plan for the weekends if you want to watch movies over the weekend so that they will be delivered to you by Friday. My brother has Blockbuster online. He likes it the best because after he watches the movies that came in the mail, he gets his wife to return them to the nearest Blockbuster store and gets free movies from the store. He gets to see more movies for less money that way. We have three kids, we don't want to take them to a store to return movies. It defeats the purpose for our needs. So Netflix works great for us. We've had them for over a year now.

I belong to Blockbuster and pay $17.99. You start with 3 rentals and when you return them to the store can select 3 rentals at the store plus when they reach their destination get more rentals. I prefer it because its double the rentals for me and am watching a lot of movies now. I am no longer paying $5.00 or more for evening showings for each person and it doesn't take that long for a movie to be available as a rental. The movies have been arriving the next day at my home, so the service has been quick.

I just wait movies in the cable... we seldom rent videos...

I joined Netflix and I really like it. I am on the cheapest plan, but I get up to two movies a month and can keep them indefinitely. All for $5.99 charged to my card. You have a queue, a list of movies you want to see in the order you want to see them. All you have to do is slip the already viewed movie in the prepaid return envelope and mail it back. In a few days you will get the next one.

Once I wanted to see "Black Snake Moan." So I found the movie in Netflix's library and put it at the top of my queue. I had it in a few days and watched the stellar performances of Samuel L Jackson and Christina Ricci. I didn't have to hunt for it in the video store and I was under no pressure to return it. What's not to like? :)

we have netflex,, we went down to movies monthly, due to fact we busy, hubby and I have one date night with the movies or something, being summer, it been the pool.. but this fall we will go back to unlimited, and our monday nites movies when we are alone,,

We have Netflix. We like it a lot since we don't have to worry about late fees.

We dont do either online. We go by blockbuster pick up what we want. Watch it. then share it with neighbors. They in turn do the same and we all save money.

We have Netflix. We don't pay a thing. We won a year subscription. I like the fact that we can keep them as long as we like. We have the 3 at a time option. However, our year is about up. We are trying to decide if we want to keep it. I really like it though.

We have Netflix. We get 3 movies at a time. There isn't any catch. You just pay a monthly fee, pick your movies and they send them through the mail with a return envelope and they pay all the postage. Pretty darn easy actually.

We've done both. We discontinued Blockbuster because they aren't as great about exchanging movies at the store as they claim on TV. Have had Netflix for quite awhile and love it.

We use netflix, my wife pays the bills so I don't know what it costs. I think it is 6bucks a month. You go online and put movies in your queue. The dvd's come in the mail. When you are done, you put the dvd in the prepaid return envelope. When netflix receives the movie back they send you the next one in your queue.

I have been wondering about them both so I am glad you posted this. I wondered if blockbuster would give you trouble about returning them at the store. I was leaning toward them because I like the idea of being able to return them to the store but after Kimberly pointed out that they are not that good about it, I am not sure. I will have to read all the comments later to see what everyone else has to say.

I wait for PayPerView movies to come on DishNet. I had Netflix once but I cancelled it. Too much hassle.

I just go to the library and rent a video. Most of the video stores have gone out of business.

Netflix was okay, but I wasn't that fond of it. However I love my blockbuster online, for all the same reasons listed above!

We had Netflix for almost 2 years. We had 3 at a time unlimited a month for $19.99. It was nice in the beginning but then we found it was taking longer and longer to get the next movies or for them to be received at their warehouse. We used to see the movie shipped on Monday and we would get it Tuesday since the warehouse was only about 30 minutes away....then it started taking two days for the movies to be received after we shipped. Then the movie would be shipped out to us and it would take another two days to get it.

A couple of times we sent movies back but they were never received so we had to wait another week to report it. They were fine about sending out the next one but you had to wait all that time in case it turned up.

We now use Blockbuster online and I LOVE IT!!!! We pay $17.99 for 3 at a time. We received three movies and after we watch them my husband returns them to the store (5 minutes up the road) and gets three more. We have never had a problem at the store. You can even get the brand new releases. Blockbuster also gives you a coupon each month for a free movie or game so sometimes we get 4 movies at a time.

Now...the absolute BEST thing is that when you return the movies in the envelopes to the store they scan them in right then. So, your next movies on your list get shipped out the next day so by the time you are done watching the three from the store you will probably have your next three in the mail. We seriously get at least twice the amount of movies than we did with Netflix for less money a month. The only trouble is with a toddler sometimes it's hard to get to all the movies so we may go down to the 2 at a time plan.

Another plus about Blockbuster is that you don't have to worry about the movies getting lost in the mail when you send them back, just drop them off at the store and it is scanned in proving you returned it.

I do know that Netflix has lowered some of their prices (my parents still use it, but not that often) because so many people are leaving to go to Blockbuster. When we cancelled they have you fill out a survey and one of the reasons for leaving is that you want to try Blockbuster.

I've had Netflix for about two years now and I love it. I hate having to drive to a store to rent or return movies, so I love the convenience of selecting movies on the internet from the comfort of my own home and then having them appear in my mailbox. I've had great turn-around time and often have a new movie within two or three days of when I mail one back. And every time I hear of an interesting movie or see coming attractions that interest me, I add it to my queue and once it's released on DVD it'll move up my queue and show up in my mailbox one day.

I've got Blockbuster online... I've had it for about 2 years now... I pay about 28 bucks a month, and I think I have out 3 or 4 movies at a time... plus I get a free movie instore a week... I love it!! Ijust sometimes forget I have the movie and keep it a month or two.. luckily with BBOnline, there are no late fees whatsoever!! lol

I have used Netflix. It was great for when I lived in the boonies in WA. It would have taken an hour each way to rent a movie, so it worked great for me.

We don't do any now. Neither of us are that into movies that we can't just rent one once in a while or wait until it is on cable.
If I was renting all of the time, I would sign up again in a heartbeat:)

I looovvvveee Netflix. I know blockbuster is supposed to be great because you can return movies to the store but the reason I rent movies online is so I *don't* have to go into the store. No way do I want to drag my three kids into a movie store to try to find a movie to watch.

Netflix just went down to $16.99 for three movies at a time. We get several movies a month and get most of them very quickly. I've had it for a year and the movies still get to me as quickly (with the exception of a few) as they did when I first joined.

Wow, Netflix went up then! I used to belong to them, paid $12.99 for 3 movies at a time. I loved it and would still be a member except we decided to get cable and we purchase movies off of there instead now. Not quite the same and you can't always get older movies but most of the time if it's old enough you can find it on one of the many stations. We were always satisfied with the speed, service and quality of our Netflix.

we use blockbuster online and pay $17.99/mo for "renting" 3 movies at a time. "hubby" works right next door to a blockbuster so we're averaging about 6 movies a week. it's an excellent deal!

I have Netflix. I pay $8.99/month and get one at a time DVDs unlimited (as many as I can watch in a month). I think it's a great deal and I really like it. It also includes TV shows and some movies that you can watch instantly on your pc but my pc isn't new enough or high speed enough to handle it.
