When I got the e-mail from One2One asking for people to review Brandi Carlile’s new album “Give Up the Ghost”, I had to go to her website to find out more about who she was. I am so glad that I did! Her music reminds me of college days – a little Indigo Girls (Amy Ray is actually on the album), a little Sheryl Crow, and a lot of emotion.
A few days later I received an e-mail from Columbia with a download for Brandi’s new album that hits stores today. After downloading it, I had my husband burn a CD so I could listen to it in my car. Brandi’s vocals are amazing, and twins Tim and Phil Hanseroth add great harmonies. “Caroline”, which she performs with Elton John, is one of my favorite songs on the album. I also really liked “Dying Day”, about missing someone you love when they are somewhere else. Since my husband works away from home I could really relate to this one!
