Wild Hogs

Trying to pick a movie for 6 very different people to watch is difficult, to say the least. People veto the few movies that get suggested, so when one pops up that everyone says "hmm" to, there might be a winner.

We watched the free On Demand preview of "Wild Hogs" and immediately all 6 of us started laughing and saying "ok! That's the one!"

Before watching this movie, I had NO desire at all to see this movie. I like William H. Macy but think the other three actors are ok - a bit overrated at this point. However, I laughed so many times throughout this movie and was even crying from laughter at a few points.

The basic plot, for those who don't know: Doug (Tim Allen), Woody (John Travolta), Bobby (Martin Lawrence) and Dudley (Macy) are 4 middle-age men with different lives - some have jobs and families, some are divorced or unemployed. However, the one thing they have in common, despite their age range, is a love of riding a motorcycle. Once a week, they get their little gang (the Wild Hogs) together, for a ride through their town and end up at a biker bar (where the owner knows them and makes girly jokes with them) for some drinks.

Tired and fed up, Woody proposes that they go on a cross-country drive to really experience motorcycling. Although they each protest at first, they eventually all sign on (some urged by their wives, some deceiving their wives).

What follows is one hilarious mishap after another, leading to a fairly predictable ending that still delivers laughs.

While this movie got panned - and yes, it does try to recapture the greatness of "City Slickers" (it fails miserably) - it's still fun and funny. Definitely worth seeing if 1) it's free, 2) you are looking for a fun, light flick and 3) there's nothing better to watch (or you're in a group who can't decide)!
