MY REVIEW
I am not a big fan of musicals and only purchased this movie because of all the advertisement that gather.com did. I viewed this movie twice since I purchased it. I first viewed it with my Daughter and Granddaughter. Then my husband and I viewed it together. I am not a fan of Meryl streep but I loved her in this movie. I think it is her best performance ever! I loved the ABBA songs and the story line. It kept me interested throughout and laughing. The scenery was amazing so I did some research to see where it was shot. It was shot in London and Greece I will be viewing this movie again.
I would rate it a 4 & 1/2 star and recommend it for a girls night out movie.

Thanks for the review.
If so, I was planning on seeing this movie.
Even more so, since you reminded me of the songs. I love Abba.
Do you recall Shangri La with Peter Finch? Ugh. That was my instant comparison to Mama Mia!
I would love to have Meryl Streep's energy though, and she did do a good job.
Yes it is out on DVD
The only scene that stood out for me was when Meryl Streep's character sings "The Winner Takes It All", which is the only Abba song which I feel has any merit. She did a really good job with it.
I will say, though, that it was nice to see something upbeat and as far as the PG-13 goes, I don't see why there's a restriction on it.
