Passionate and sincere, Australian singer-songwriter Missy Higgins is a welcome relief in a music landscape littered with disposable pop. The 24-year-old Melbourne native has enjoyed phenomenal success in her homeland, and a growing fanbase in the U.S., in spite of - or perhaps because she shuns the usual synthetic packaging and tabloid tackiness. Instead she's adopted a more timeless approach, relying on her undeniable songs and unforgettable live performances to forge a genuine connection with her audience.
Higgins' new album, On A Clear Night, retains the irresistible melodies and piercing lyrics of her critically lauded debut The Sound of White, which was Australia's best-selling album of 2005. However this time around, the tracks benefit from the empathetic production of Mitchell Froom, who is known for his work with Paul McCartney, Elvis Costello, and Crowded House. The quiet strength of the new songs reflects Higgins' newfound confidence and changing worldview. A major star in Australia, she has grown up in public and On A Clear Night is the diary she's kept along the way.

What inspired the album??? It seems that there is a love/hate relationship and another woman involved (Angela) going on throughout, is it based upon true events?
You're an artiste untouched by the commerical aspects of the industry. What makes you so special to me is that yours is a voice untainted - and it shows in your live performances. As a professional musician myself, I truly appreciate this spiritual quality in you. It transforms a performance into an intensely personal experience for the audience, and thus, memorable.
My questions :
1)You've tasted stunning success from the very outset. Success often corrupts, and that is death for an artiste. What, if anything, do you do to ensure that you preserve the raw, untainted quality of your performances ?
2) How do you balance between keeping the industry honchos happy and at the same time, not compromising your personal integrity?
Wish you a very Happy New Year, and continued success and growth in all that you do. Yours is a truly unique voice, and may it spread far and wide, touch billions of hearts.
Much love to you. (((((((((((((Missy))))))))))))))))))
