Looking for Arts & Entertainment Writers

Amtrak is looking for local writers to share advice about their hometown for the "Next Stop..." series, hosted at the All Aboard! group on Gather!

What are the best sights, activities, restaurants or all-around cool events happening in your city? If you're in the know and live in one of the cities along our Next Stop... tour, let us know!

Writing positions for other cities have been filled.

We are looking for writers to cover arts, culture and entertainment stories for each of these cities. Writers will receive a small stipend for each assignment. Some cities may require more than one assignment. Assignments may take place throughout the year.

If the tour ever comes through Atlanta, I'm game!

It'd be REALLY nice if Amtrak sponsored some of the the writers to travel some of the routes and write about their experiences. There's some great little towns and sights to be seen, although, I must admit, it's been quite awhile since I've travelled by train. Just a thought!

How Amtrak manages to ignore the both the I-40 and I-75 corridors - the two most heavily traveled interstates - is beyond me. Since that's the area I live in I can't write local color for Amtrak, although I'd love to.

Burlington......as in what state? I'm in the midwest......if it happens to be Burlington, Iowa....send me a note, if not may I suggest Mount Plesant, Iowa....AmTrak has a great deal of college traffic there and it might be worth adding to your list! :-D
