I recently read this article in the LA Times and found it amazing. I would like to share for those of you who would like to take the time to read....

Man Keeps close eye on bridge, offers help to those in despair

Chen Si (Nanjing, China) has been a self-appointed guard on the Nanjing Bridge over the Yangtze River for four years. By his account, he has saved 144 lives. Chen says that "in a time of crisis, all people really need is one person willing to lend a hand."

It only takes one.

It's like the story of the boy throwing the starfish back into the sea. When asked what he was doing, he said he was saving them. The person watching the spectacle said, "But it isn't making a difference."

Throwing another one into the sea, he replied, "But I made a difference to that one."

How awesome! We are so quick to dismiss doing what is right by believing that it won't make a difference...if it doesn't start with one it won't start at all.
