I have a prayer request; can anyone help??

I'm willing to pray for you and I ask that you step forward and be willing to help yourself and seek the best possible professional help. Depression can come from a lot of things including your physical body so professional help is in order.

There is a saying that "Heaven helps those who help themselves" be willing to step forward and help yourself in the best possible way.

Hi Leslie -- DON'T GIVE UP!! I'm glad that you know that Jesus loves you. I found that the key to joy when I'm feeling depressed is to focus on Him. I would like you to read Philippians 2:1-11. Even when you're feeling lonely, know that you have millions who love you in Christ. The promise of the bible is that when we receive Jesus, we are automically his children and are brothers and sisters in Christ, striving to be "like minded." Reading further, you will see that Christ was overjoyed to make himself nothing for our sake, even until death on a cross. The good news, however, is that his love and sacrifice is not where it ends. He is a hero and a conqueror who is coming back to set all things right. "And at the name of Jesus, every knee shall bow and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord." There is no problem or emotion that he hasn't already overcome. Today may be bad -- have faith that tomorrow will be better. Read every scripture you can about who Christ is -- helps me take my mind off myself and fall more in love with Him, knowing that He is the one who is always faithful, can be trusted in any circumstance.

A small p.s. -- No where in the bible does it say that "God helps those who help themselves." Jesus is more than adequate to meet all our needs. You don't have to "do" anything to gain acceptance from the Lord. he loves you just where you are and delights in you. I will pray for you Leslie, we all have our cross to carry, but sometimes we have to hit the proverbial bottom before we can begin the progress picking up from it. I don't know what your burden is, but I would encourage not to let it have power over you... Claim the power & it will be yours! God bless you!

Re-direct your attention to Jesus. Is there nothing left that you can do for him if not for yourself. You must put your problems aside, because you have done all you can to help yourself. There is only one thing that matters now, you must give yourself entirely to him, and he will help you to accomplish what it is he wants. Don't give yourself over to satan, because it will only get worse.
I will pray for you.
Lord Jesus, lift my sister up from the pit as she cries out for help. Deliver her to a new place where you want her to be, and to do your will.
She has professed your Holy Name, and will be lost without your help. Do not let your suffering for her go in vain.

I will pray for you also, Leslie. I have been very depressed myself so know how that feels. I hope you have some sort of counseling or someone you can talk to in person about your feelings.

Leslie, you are a beautiful child of God. You are searching and God is with you and trying to help you find your way. I will keep you in my prayers, but please don't give up. Someday you will look back on this and be able to help others who are in pain and need help.

Leslie, I forgot to mention this. If you have had this problem for awhile, it is important that you see a professional--a therapist or doctor. You may have a chemical imbalance that requires medication. Talk to your school nurse and your parents. But do get help!

Dear Leslie, I am thinking about you today and my prayers have been with you since last night. If you need someone to talk to, let me know via this thread. If you have a church you are connected to, check and see if they have counselors. Godly counselors who are mature in God's word can guide you, because there is power in God's word and through his Holy Spirit. Although secular counseling can help, you won't receive the power you have in Christ Jesus. There is nothing like having someone who can pray with you and take you through scripture. It is so rich. If you don't have a church, check your local area and be sure to ask if they are a bible teaching church who proclaim Jesus and acknowledge God as one together (The Father, The Son, and The Holy Spirit). There are churches that emulate Christianity, but are not, so be sure to ask those questions. You will find connections and create a family for youself who can support and encourage you. I wish I would have read all your posts when you had written them. I would have been praying for you sooner. But I am praying for you now, and I will continue to do so.
After reading all your posts, I took out some things I've learned about you. I want to present them to you in one place. Sometimes it's hard to see who we are in the big picture; I think this will make it easier for you. I hardly know you, and I know that there would be soooo much more to add here if I had known you all along, like those who know you personally. And yet, look how many wonderful things there are about you that even someone who hardly knows you can easily see.
First, you're an ex- "atheist who became a believer" (paraphrased). This says so much about you. You are a child of God, a beloved daughter of the "King of Kings". You have an awesome future ahead of you, beyond anything you could ever imagine.
"Hiding the broken pieces in the shadows and now I finally brought them in the light"; you have incredible strength of character, spirit and heart.
"I can sing really, really good. I am a great listener. I can dance. I know how to make someone smile, even when they're really upset. I look OH so fabulous in blue!!!!!!!!!" You are obviously talented and compassionate.
"My little sixth month old cousin his name is Levi...he is just so sweet... He puts a BIG SMILE on my face. My three best friends who are like family to me, and their parents their all my family...and they make me SMILE!!!! My church family... SMILE'S. My best friends....always put SMILES on my face. My dearest a greatest friend Jazmyne… I love her very much… She is a very great friend. My wonderful youth leader (HEY KRISTEN D.) …my youth leader's daughter, singing in the most beautiful voice with all her heart ....you've touched my life in such a wonderful way. a seven year old sister… I still seem to get worried about her…" How many people you have shown who love you, and who you love in return, and I'm sure these are only a few, that there are many more. These things all speak to your good character, your concern for others and your God given purpose in this life.

He's made you apart of His great family, of which I am also a member as well as many who have already expressed concern for you. And you have so many brothers and sisters who you haven't met yet. You are part of a family that is as countless as the stars in the heavens. We're not perfect, by any means, but the day will come when we are reunited with Christ, then we will be.

Your Bible verse is very fitting.
31 Yet those who wait for the LORD
Will gain new strength;
They will mount up with wings like eagles,
They will run and not get tired,
They will walk and not become weary.
Isa 40:31

All this to say, you are indeed such an awesome person; someone of great worth and potential. And you are obviously very dearly loved by those close to you. What your going through is so very hard, but you are even stronger in Christ. You will make it through these difficult days. There are many better days ahead for you. You have so much to live for, kid, don't let the evil done to you by a few people take that all away from you. Don't give up!

I'm going to be short and sweet. I'm hoping that this feeling has passed for you. If it hasn't it will. You are stronger then you give yourself credit for. Have faith because there is hope and as you can see many friends here care and pray for you,including myself. Many have pointed out ways to help yourself so now get up and make that call. Please don't hurt yourself and I will pray for you but please seek professional help. Because not only do you hurt yourself but your family and your friends will also miss you. My brother shot himself when I was 7 years old. My family moved to Texas in the summer of 1967 and my brother took his life in Feb 1968, and my mom and dad blamed themselves for his death. My mother had a nervous breakdown and my grandmother had to move in and take care of her. I don't know you but I will say I love you don't take your own life God made you and he loves you. Please seek professional help I wish my brother had, he might still be here and our life would be better.

Of course there are people who care enough to lift you up in prayer no matter the need. First I will pray for God to let you be aware of the closeness which He so willingly wants to share with you. I will pray asking God to lift you up with His Great Love, bringing you the warmth which comes from His comfort. I will pray that God build your strength against these attacks. I will pray that God allow you His rest that is offered. I will pray that all of Gods blessings bring you His Peace and Joy.
