isnt life amazing

I was thinking the other night of how amazing things have come from when I was born. Recently I had a friend that her sister had her baby at 4 months. It came out weighing only 1 lb 8 oz and he lived. Right now he is still in the hospital and they just did surgery to put a trac in which he may where for 6months to life cause his lungs are still week. He is gaining weight good and drinking from a bottle and gaining weight. He responds to them when they are around. The hospital says he may be going home in just a few more weeks. I just find that so amazing. the good Lord must be watching over him full time. I know we keep saying prayers for him

My grandson was born February 9, 2007 and weighed 1 pound three ounces. He is now 4 mouths old and weighs 5 1/2 pounds. He is our little miracle baby. I wish I could post his footprints the day he was born. The were so sweet and delicate. We hope he will be home from the hospital soon. Fornunately he does not have any lasting problems.

Sure some will take exception to my comment, but how much is it costing society to keep these children alive, pay to mainstream many of them with serious health mental issues in our schools, and then provide them with cradle to grave public help? It is fair to spend MILLIONS to keep one premature baby alive, when we have no problems turning once healthy adults away because they cannot afford medical insurance, partially because of the costs of taking care of premies.

That little baby is definitely a miracle, and I believe that he will also be a blessing. Maybe when he grows up, he will come up with a solution for the high cost of health care. :-)

Debra...you can actually price the materials a life is made up of...less than ten bucks to be precise. Call me callous, but for what it cost here in America to save one premy, we could save the lives of 1,000's of babies in Africa, in Darfur and other impoverished nations.
