Last weekend I (guess I should say my husband) purchased me a new camera!  Yea, I did get one for my b-day last month BUT I decided I needed one with a little more zoom and a little more 'action' so my mother is buying my 'old one' at a very good price I might add!!  LOL  (My husband said this had better be 'the one'  because he is not going to buy a third camera in less than 2 months, - I was so making sure I was getting exactly what I wanted in a camera, I had to call my great friend Victoria H. to get her opinion/advice on couple of things before I made my decision....BTW, thanks Victoria)!!

Getting back to my article, like everyone with a new camera, you just walk miles around your property looking for 'something' to take a picture of.  I have taken so many pictures of Buckwheat, my black lab, that he literally runs the other way when he sees me coming with camera in hand.  Well, after taking pictures of flowers, birds, trees, trees with birdnest, insects, dogs, cats and hubby I decided I would call it quits.  As I was getting ready to go inside I happened to notice a lizard on one of my tropical trees, so of course, I turned back to snap a picture. After reviewing my picture I noticed "two tails" on this lizard, I thought "Oh my gosh, I have a deformed lizard, he has 'two tails'!!  (Honestly, that was exactly what I thought)!!

After a closer look, I saw there were two lizards!

Yep, -that's what I said too.......NO WAY!!!!!! These lizards are "gettin' it on"!!  Ahhhhhh,
how passionate and so romantic, - he has his 'little arm' around her!!

Well, of course, during all this time I was taking pictures so fast I could barely hold the camera,
much less 'zoom, focus and shoot'!  So I just pulled up a chair and tried to get comfortable so I could
watch the show.  (I thought, oh no, is this 'lizard porno' I am watching)?

After watching, what seemed like an hour and taking so many pictures (I really felt as
though I was invading their privacy) they very slowly began to move!

Now, what I saw next I was NOT 'prepared to see'.........................(Like I was prepared to
see any of this behavior from lizards)!

Connie, - I really did think about flagging this article (it may get flagged) but I know I have seen this and much more 'explicit' stuff on the Discovery and Animal Channels on cable TV so I did not flagged it!! LOL

I got a Kodak EasyShare Z712 IS, (7.2MP and 12X Zoom) this 'little baby' is kinda cool, - I am having a blast with it but I have a lot to learn. I have read the guide book five times and some sections hundreds of times!! LOL

Really I did not post as to be funny but I did want to have fun with it, - you are so right it is absolutely beautiful and I feel fortunate to have witnessed this, - it is nature and very rare to see especially for me. I have certainly learned a lot from this, - after my sister and I viewed the pictures I have been on the internet reading all I can about lizards and how long it takes for the to reproduce, - it was amazing at all I have learned, - according to my reading I may be a 'grandmother' in approximately 45 days!! (HeeHee)

ROFLMAO, I have to say, this is my very 1st lizard porn. I've seen a lot of it but never with lizards involved. lol OMG, only you could pull this off. Hee-Hee!

Now onto the important stuff, not that lizard porn is not important, mind you. Those pictures are awesome. That camera is taking incredible pictures. I'm so jealous. I'm going to start experimenting with mine a little more to see what I can actually do with it. Unfortunately we don't have lizards in this neck of the woods so I'll try to find a grasshopper couple or maybe frogs doing the wild thing, to post. lol

Are these green anoles? How big were they? They look to be about 5-7 inches, but I can't tell what scale they are in context to the picture. My son has a green anole in an aquarium in his room, but the wild ones are always so much brighter and more impressive. I'll have to show him your photoessay. I'm sure he'll enjoy it (especially the lizard porn parts!).

Phyllis - that was fascinating and Yes, it was a big one and I'm surprised. Do you know how many hours I've spent watching lizards - yes, I love to watch them on the porch as they scurry over my uplifted toes - they are such a joy - these are chameleons, aren't they? they change colors depending on what they are on...anyway, I've seen them about to get after it but of course never had a camera - hummm - don't let me say that too fast as a memory is coming into view through my fuzzy brain - but anyway, you did a great job of taking these pictures and that's a wonderful gift that your hub gave you!!!
I received a wonderful video camera for my b-day as well and it has more brains than I'll ever have!!!
