Ok, I have been noticing vegetarian/vegan pet foods lately and don't really like the concept. Cats and dogs (especially cats) are natural carnivors and need meat to maintain proper health.
It's ok if people want to be vegetarian or vegan but they shouldn't push that onto their pets as well, it's just not a healthy way to feed them.
Would love to hear others opinions on this topic.

There is good evidence that a vegetarian or vegan diet is a bad idea for cats, which as opposed to dogs (who are omnivores) are naturally primarily carnivorous.
Personally, I think it's a little ridiculous. It's one thing to make a personal ethical choice not to eat animals, but it's another thing to enforce that choice on another animal- one that can't tell you what they would choose. And since implementing the choice poorly can actually harm your animals, it's something any responsible pet owner needs to think carefully about.
