A New Discovery

My daughter and I went outside the other day when little brother was taking a nap. It was actually a day when the weather was pretty warm outside. Now we are back to cool air and jackets here. She found all the dandelions in the yard that had turned to that fuzzy white stuff. I used to love to play with those when I was a kid. Here is Maddie taking a look at her new discovery.

             

She kept gathering hand fulls of those white fuzzy fur balls on stems! We were blowing on them together and it actually brought back alot of fun childhood memories for me.

So, of course, I had to run in the house and snap a couple of photos for our scrapbook albums and for my friends on Gather. Here is my daughter giving the dandelion a big blow!! It was neat just watching her make a new discovery!

I used to do that alot as a child (and a grown up too) It was so much fun. Isn't it magical to see something fresh through young innocent eyes? It puts a whole new perspective on things. Doesn't it?

I think all of us use to enjoy doing that as a kid , Now I just picture that commercial where the man is running to stop the kid from blowing them because it makes more dandilions

My kidsand I use to pretend when we blew on these. That they would carry kisses off to our love ones. Being humans or animals that went to heaven. That was the only we could let them know that we still love and miss them.

I used to do that too. She's beautiful, Monica! Don't you just love watching them discover the world around them. It's like seeing the world all over again and remembering when we were that age and seeing it all for the first time again.

awww.. such sweet pics! I remember doing that as kids..and also picking them when they were yellow and holding them under each other's chin to see if your chin turned yettow.

When I was a kid, that was so much fun - to find a dandelion flower and make a wish and then blow the seeds around! It's good that she is learning about the earth - do you know dandelions make good salads - (and wine, may I add)! Salud.

Wow---I am learning knew stuff everyday. I didn't know about holding them under the chin and I also didn't know that they make good salads. I have never had a salad with dandelions before!
