When you go to Disneyland you may not have time to take in every attraction, ride, and show. Below I have listed a few favorites. Feel free to add your own.
Space Mountain
It's fun and fast. It's different than any other ride I've ever been on. They have changed it slightly from years past. (Updating music and lights that pulse in time to the music) It is still my overall favorite as far as the fast rides go.
Buzz Lightyear
It’s like being inside a Buzz Lightyear video game. VERY cool. You get a score at the end, so you can compete with your family and friends. This is fun for all and based on the Disney Pixar movie.
Indiana Jones
Scary, and fast but a very cool ride. I even do not mind standing in line (if I can't get a fastpass) for this attraction, the details put into the area before the ride is terrific.
Fantasmic
This show is very crowded and you need to get there early, but also very worth it. One of the best shows at Disneyland that should not be missed. Plan on dinner this side of the park and stay for the show.
Pirates of the Caribbean
This ride is an old time favorite from my childhood. Now slightly updated due to the new Pirates movies. Still very cool, all ages enjoy this ride. Just don't forget to hold on.
Haunted Mansion
Tour the mansion on foot, then hop into a "Doom Buggy," and take off into the graveyard. Beware of hitchhiking ghosts.
Big Thunder Mountain Railroad
A runaway mine train roller coaster. Fast, cool and very fun.
Matterhorn Bobsleds
A fast roller coaster ride through the alps. You will see Bigfoot if your eyes are open.
Splash Mountain
The big thrill of this ride is the HUGE DROP into the water at the end. You WILL get wet, so put your purse in a bag. (Or anything else you want dry.) Do not ride this on a cold night, or day, unless you have an extra shirt nearby. Don't even try this ride with white pants. ROFL
This is just a list of my must see rides. There are many more worth seeing. When my children were younger they loved TOONTOWN, but for 2007 these are my picks.

My daughter went around the same age, but did get scared seeing the Pirates. (On Pirates of the Caribbean) When my children were that young, I always planned trips during the week & off season. (So they'd be able to see their favorites characters up close, photos, ect)
The park does have a special breakfast, (for a fee) where you get a chance to see certain characters up close, almost one on one.
This trip last weekend, it was busy, but we did run into a few pirates, Merlin and the random princess.
and the big thunder mountain railroad . I can say nice rides..
The castle looks a lot different at WDW than at Disneyland.
Both are cool.
You do need a few days to see Disneyland, and like a week at Disney World.
Beverly- if you've never been its time to go now. :-)
